I know there is a thread right on going on about all the great old tv shows, but I wanted to take it one step further...... Pick ONE show, only one , that you would like to see brought back and updated....

    Mine would be - MacGuyver

Brought back / updated? Hard to say because a lot of shows were great because they were "of their time." Other shows "owe a lot" to their predecessors. There was a show about the little nitpicky everyday problems a comedian has while trying to go through his day. It inspired a lot of catchwords and featured a tight central cast with a large "cloud" of supporting players. Do I speak of Seinfeld? Nope, Jack Benny.

Personally, I'd like to see "That Was The Week That Was" but only if Tom Lehrer still wrote the songs. This is a time that could use some political comedy in prime time.

Cheers and M*A*S*H, my two all-time favorites.

'24', with references to the Screen Writers strike, and an explanation of "Jack's" DUI incarceration.

    Firefly.

But not updated. I want the original cast.

I do, however, want a new network to run it.

There are about 5 shows that have implanted themselves forever in my memory, but updated in today's tv culture? No thanks. A couple are already on HULU.com for me to happily watch in crappy old SD.:D

Not really old, not really in need of an update but a continuation. NYPD Blue. How's Sipowicz handle his role as the Sgt of the 15th.
