In what order to you plug them both back in and reboot and rescan?
it's common rule - peripheral device(s) turn on first, then host/server
Heck, it's been so long since I last did anything like that, I plum forgot.
I wish the channel guide had NO REGULAR Programming display. How many kilobytes does it take to have all local channels with info?
The local channel guide info consumes space on the download feed but should be filtered out (ignoring channels not received) before consuming storage space.
I don't believe that this consumes that much space. What application are they using to create the guide. And it is not 100% correct on channels from one DMA to another. No Quality control check.
FYI, I wasn't successful in getting my local OTAs to populate. I think it's time to give up. I know it's not the AM21, either, because when I used the other one I have, that doesn't populate the locals either. It's got to be something I'm doing—or not doing, for that matter—that is the issue.
I'll tell you what. Let me restart from complete scratch. So, and I know this sounds very foolish and comes across as a childlike, dummy inquiry, but can you reply with numbered, step-by-step instructions on how to specifically do the reboot? Include anything that may be needed but perhaps overlooked by me, like disconnecting an RG6 cable from this or that, for example—anything you believe ought to be tried.
I'll give that a shot and see if it works.
First off- What is the model number of the IRD you have the AM21 connected to?
It's an HR24.
WAND 17.1 has always matched whatever NBC channel 17, their main station, has on. Recently, the guide still reflects that, however 17.1 is now showing some religious channel. I spoke to the VP at WAND and he said it is Directv at fault, because WAND is broadcasting 17.1 with their normal NBC programming. I have rescanned the channels several time and it still comes up wrong. There are other WAND OTA channels that don’t match the guide as well. multiple 17.2’s and 17.3’s. Still waiting on a response from directv.
You are picking up at least one of WAND's multiple (digital) translators, that ALL transmit with the same virtual channel#'s...hence for the multiples you're seeing. They have them in Jacksonville, Effingham & Danville & depending on your location, can easily be picked up in addition to the main tower in Argenta. Many people in the western half of Springfield easily pull in the Jacksonville translator, including myself.
Has anyone order the LCC over the air kit ?
