OTA problems in Minneapolis, please remove a channel from the results...

    A couple of years ago when OTA support was launched we were able to get through to DTV to add 45-2 for the Minneapolis market.

    I am hoping that we can reach the same people that can help make changes. I live in the south suburbs of Minneapolis and I have a problem with a second 9-1 channel (KAWE) showing up and it's a channel that doesn't exist here. Anyone have 'connections' to get this channel removed on the selection as both of my DVR's switch from the valid KSTP to KAWE almost weekly, very frustrating.

    KAWE is WAY up north, it doesn't belong in the search results for the Minneapolis area.

    Usually you can get in touch with the station, and they forward it on to tribune, and thats how these things get fixed.. In this case, maybe try and contact tribune.... Directv simply passes along what they get from tribune..

    This issue has been a real sore spot for me. Every time my DVR reboots, the KAWE channels show up in my guide. Usually, it's only one or two of them though.

    Previously, in some cases, the KAWE would replace my KSTP channels randomly, or when selecting the KSTP channel, the receiver would try to tune KAWE instead, and tell me I had no antenna signal until I reset all of the local channels (which wouldn't be such a big deal except for the fact it takes 5-10 minutes to do - could we find a slower way to do it, please?)

    I've called DirecTV on multiple occasions regarding this issue and the responses have ranged from "we don't troubleshoot OTA channels" (sorry, this isn't an antenna issue, the other OTA tuners work just fine) to "we'll elevate this issue and get back to you in 24 hours" (amazingly, I have yet to hear a response.)

    This just gets to be one you deal with, as DirecTV's responses to the situation have been like another hole in my head - worthless.

    Mr. Fioritto,
    I am not sure who to contact at your company but I figured that operations would be a good start. I am a DirecTV customer in the Minneapolis area. As I understand it, DirecTV gets their OTA channel 'areas' from your company.

    Myself and others have had problems with a second 9-1 OTA channel that is showing up in the results on our DVR's. The specific channel is 9-1 KAWE. There is a valid channel of 9-1 KSTP for the Minneapolis area. KAWE is a channel that exists about 5 hours drive time north of Minneapolis.

    Can you please help us get this resolved and remove the KAWE channel from our OTA channel search results??

    This is the number I called to have them fix my issues 800-833-9581. It was fixed within 24 hours.

    Same issues for me, resetting OTA every time is getting old. You can't just add it back in, you have to do a full OTA reset.

    This is also causing my recordings on 9.1 to mess up even after i re-ran the setup.

    Here is the response....

    I just got off the phone with DirecTV and they are going to discuss the issue on their side and see what they can do to resolve. My contact indicated that DirecTV does off KAWE in the Minneapolis market to DirecTV users on ch 22, but because KAWE and KSTP are both broadcasting on ch 9, that is what is causing the conflict. I will let you know once I hear back from them on a resolution.
