I already had Sunday Ticket..
Coincidence, they were actually getting the Epix channels for the owner.
Just to comment, Most everybody else that switches say the Dish SD is better than the DirecTV SD.
Guide only covers 90 minutes and is not configurable to how many hours and channels to display and P.I.G or not. Come On D* get with it only one 90 minute guide choice?
Most Switchers say that the Picture and sound quality is similar, one might be better on one channel and worse on another.
"Most DISH DVRs have two tuners, one SD and one HD", Just wrong. There is no such thing as a HD or SD tuner.
Take a dual tuner Dish DVR, Add a Dual tuner OTA tuner and record 4 HD feeds at once. 2 Satellite and 2 OTA.
Or get two hoppers and some Joeys and have 6 tuners and HD evereywhere as well as Whole Home from what I read here. Plus PTAT that uses 1 tuner for the big four networks.
I know from a (non-sports) bar owner I know personally, that you cannot show premium movie networks on commercial accounts. Otherwise they could become a "mini theater" by showing movies. You can't even subscribe to premium movie channels on a commercial account. Nor will you get the music channels. And that goes for pretty much all providers, partly driven by the law (music royalties), partly driven by the premium channels themselves.
Once my dish network service is installed on Wednesday, I will let you know what I think of the quality of the channel at that time. I will just be glad to not be missing my pac 12 games anymore.
Now that's the Hoosier205 I've been waiting to see. Don't forget to Congratulate the Dishnetwork subs for their new addition.
"DISH is desperate and flailing in an attempt to make up for many stumbles of late."
"DISH couldn't afford to let yet another deal slip by"
Please stop, I'm already laughing so hard my sides hurt
So the channel everybody wants DirecTV to pony up money for isn't really a compelling channel unless it is also in HD?
So My Mother and my Brother who are more than happy with SD on their SD channels are Losers?
And there I was happy to give up my B&W 10 RCA that had the corners cut off of the screen due to the round picture tube for color.
That was a jump, I like HD but it was nowhere near the same improvement as going from B&W to Color.
More good news for us Beaver Fans.
OSU v UCLA on National TV (ABC/ESPN2)
In theory, fans w/o Comcast access can buy the Blazers streaming package and then get it, at least that's how they sell it. But if you can get Comcast you are not eligible.
I have no pure insider information on the rates. But I can say this, anytiime you talk to Directv they say the channel costs too much. Everytime you talk to CSN NW they point to dozens of providers that have jumped on board.
All of us thought it was good when Comcast purchased NBC. Each one of us thought it was a matter of time before CSN Philadelphia came on board. It never did. It's all a game. Directv has never shown any real incredible interest.
Yea, everyone plays dirty except Directv?! Sure that's it.
Huh? Are we SF viewers to be blocked from this? (I looked in TitanTV, but there were some "TBA's" for that date.)
The 12-day game time and telecast network picks have been made and here's the link:
PAC 12 Website is currently down. We now know they use GoDaddy!
Please... Message me.. I really would like to know... Thank you
ugh, so Colorado - Washington State gets FX and Utah - Arizona State gets Pac12 network.
After following Utah in the lousy Mountain West Conference and their colossal failure with "The Mtn" network, it's unbelievable to me that I'm running into the exact same problem with the Pac-12.
I believe that it will get resolved.. It sucks though..
Did they get rid of the commercial music channels? Directv had them for years.
I know my brother in-law does NOT get Sonictap in his bar in Chicago (and is not allowed to per policy), that is all I can tell you.
Now, back to PAC12 before we stray too much off-topic.
The numbers are known. Google it. They were mentioned in a lot of news articles at the time. Due to the sparseness of a lot of the Trailblazers home territory, there are numerous community systems that dropped the channel and those areas would have issue with streaming anyway.
No. Comcast plays dirty. And holding hostage a channel that you own for gain is playing dirty no matter who does it. And yes, I've seen directv play less dirty than most. That is honest. The nonsense of "everyone does it" is nonsense. Some companies have higher standards than others. Fact of life.
As for NBC deal. That was a pipe dream. No one forced anything as part of the NBC deal. Comcast gave up nothing to make a horrible for the consumer deal. Nothing at all. It was only Internet speculation that it would change anything. It did not. And don't say "all of us" because I never expected anything to change.
It's also good news for non-UCLA and non-Oregon fans who like great football....
Many of us still hope CSN Philly can be added, but I don't see that Comcast's buying of NBC was is or will be any impetus for that to come about.
Yes if DirecTV and the Pac 12 don't have a deal by that date we won't see the game via DirecTV. That game in paticular has been pointed to by many Nat'l writers as the target/drop dead date for D* and Pac 12 Nets to have a deal worked out. If I recall correctly, this was the 1st game Pac 12 nets chose months back in the first roud "draft of games."
