I just hope I won't want to upgrade from my 34. I'm expecting that it won't have any exclusive features I'm interested in. I don't care that it has wifi.

I've read and heard from several places that it will be 'faster' but will only have 3 tuners and will support wireless clients. If that's true, and you know everything on the Internet is always true:lol:, the number of tuners is a big disappointment!

I'm all for the 'faster' but 3 tuners doesn't really interest me nor does wireless clients.:(

I'd think any testing would be done before they get approval to start production. Seems late to start if they're already cranking them out if they find any hardware issues.

I get a kick out of the part of the release that casts RVU as a "proven, deployed standard".

RVU would need to have at least one approved server to qualify as proven, wouldn't it?

I like the 'supersedes the successful deployment of Pace manufactured HR34 Genie server and C31 mini Genie throughout the United States in 2012.' part...

'Successful' may be a little strong considering the troubles people are still having with the HR34.

I don't know, I read somewhere that DIRECTV Latin Am. just joined the RVU alliance. Maybe it's something for them.

So it looks like there could be up to 3 sources for the NEW HR-44 - C41 Client
    to be released in 2013....

    Samsung -200

    Humax -500

    Pace -700

Hopefully someone at CES can give us some specs - most importantly number of tuners!

If its so much cheaper than the HR34 for DirecTVs cost, I am very interested in the specs.

It's cheaper? If that's the case chances are it does have 3 tuners and probably is only an add-on to the HR34. Maybe adds wireless and 3 more tuners...

I'm still hoping it has more tuners and doesn't need a an HR34 in the mix but we'll see....
