I'm debating whether or not to upgrade to the Premeir package. My current package/bill reads as follows:

    TOTAL CHOICE PLUS Monthly 51.99
    HBO Monthly 13.00
    HD Access Monthly 9.99
    DIRECTV DVR Service Monthly 5.99
    Additional Receiver 4.99
    Leased Receiver 4.99

    Sub-Total 90.95
    Tax 5.46

    TOTAL $96.41

Below is what I came up with if I did indeed upgrade:

    Premier 99.99
    HD Access Monthly 9.99
    DIRECTV DVR Service Monthly 5.99
    Additional Receiver 4.99
    Leased Receiver 4.99

    Sub-Total 125.95
    Tax 7.56

    TOTAL $133.51

Is this accurate? Can I remove any charges or did miss adding any new charges? Should I hold out for the "ALL ACCESS" package?

    Thanks!

How many receiver's do you have? You do not pay a additional receiver fee and a lease fee for the same unit. Your first unit is free and every box after that you have a mirror fee or a lease fee depending if you receiver's are a leased or owned. DIRECTV just changed the mirror fee name to lease for any new receiver's.

    I have 3 receivers. HR20-100s (Leased) -- H20-100 (Master/Own) -- Hughes SD receiver (Own).

    Thanks!

OK. You math looks correct to me. If you would like to hold off to see if the all access package happens we are only a few weeks away from the rumored date. But you also have to remember what the package is suppose to offer is only a rumor at this point.

I have pondered going to Premier, but with the rumored All Access due later this month, I am waiting. I have HD, DVR, HR20, 2 additional DVR's, HBO and SHO, I might save with the new package. ? Supposed to include DVR, HD, all premuims and no lease fees for addtional tuners. Is the new package still a rumor?

From the rumors that I have seen it looks like there will be a new package called all access. But what will be in the package was posted about 2 months ago and I don't think the poster ever posted again. But not sure about that. About 2 weeks after that post is when the package showed up on DIRECTV website but you could not click on it. Then I posted what I had read 2 weeks before in another thread and a couple of other members said they remember seeing the same post. But this is as far as the rumor goes with what will be in the package.

I remember reading that thread, but have seen or heard no more about it. Been 12 years without it, I can wait a couple of weeks; can't wait on the HD though :)

I think you will find that Premier includes DVR service, so subtract 5.99 from your calculation.

DVR was just dropped from Premier, IIRC, grandfathered in for current users.

The DVR service was removed from the Premier package for new customers and customers upgrading to the Premier packaged on the 12 of July.

i upgraded to premier on 7/15 via the web site (b/c the phone rep wouldn't honor what the web site said) and DVR is included in mine... so you can try added premier via the web site and see if it includes DVR with yours.

D* has a package called Plus HD DVR for $69.99/month which may be cheaper that what you have now. Look into that one.

I'm on the +HD DVR package now, with only one premium (HBO), and one extra box.

I really want Premier, since I'm adding the sports pack, and that puts me right under $99.00, but then I'll have to pay the DVR and Mirror fee, correct?

Yes you will have to pay $5.99 DVR fee and $4.99 for every receiver after the first one.

    Broken...
No. The new pricing for Premier (without the DVR service) only goes into effect if you upgrade your programming. Upgrading equipment will not change your TCP pricing (I am assuming that by TCP you mean Total Choice Premier, not Total Choice Plus).

Presuming TCP means Total Choice Premier, I don't believe you'll get hit with the DVR fee when adding equipment.

I got my DirecTiVo in October 2003 and was not subject to that fee since I was a Premier subscriber. Last Fall, I added the HR-20 and removed one of my old RCA receivers; still no sign of a DVR fee.

    hope that helps
