Thismorning PBSyou is gone from my box and has been replaced with some religious shite channel.
PBSyou announced in late 2005 they were shutting down.
Phew...At first I thought you meant PBS Sprout. My 3 yr old son has that channel on all of the time.
Actually this happened late last night. I believe it may have happened at midnight (ET). I was awake and noticed at, like, 1 am/ET.
PBS You was a great channel. It's really too bad this has been dealt a loss -- and that DirecTV brought in another religion-based channel to replace it.
should have brought in BBC World or CNN International
They couldn't, they had to replace it with another channel that qualifies as "Public Interest" aka either a religious channel or another service from a not-for-profit group:
It is too bad that PBS You couldn't make it but I think there programming was a bit stale. In recent months they had become the Charlie Rose channel rerunning an endless number of Charlie Rose shows. I think they could have done a much better job.
I can't believe they replaced it with another one of those stupid religious channels. Don't get me wrong, if thats what you like to watch then thats fine but there are already so many of them on DTV. Also they could have added something like BBC News or Cnn Internaitonal or soething but that might be competition for FoxNews. I don't think they will add Cnn International. After CNN Fn shut down, I thought they would make the channel CNN International but they didn't. Too bad. We could really use some more news besides th crappy cable news channels offered today.
Apparently you didn't read the post above yours. Public interest channels have to meet a certain set of criteria in order to be considered public interest. Last time I checked CNN was owned by Time Warner, aka TWX.
I'd like to see the regular BBC stations. Would love to see the new Doctor Who and not have to wait for the DVD's.
Sci-Fi will start running it in March.
Yeah I heard that but I want to be able to watch season 2 live and not have to wait for Sci-fi to get it. But I'm happy that Sci-fi is showing it.
