    Dripping...
As per the comments that I saw posted about this at CES the client want's a farily high end system and the minimum system requirements at http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/products/require_112_ENU.html back that up.

The question I have is would DirecTV want us to try to 'push' the low end on the system requirements or just use the published standards? Example, my desktop is a Pentium 4 2.66Ghz which is lower then what's shown, would they like to see how well it works at the slower clock speed?

I don't think mine meets it either. I will just have to see how it works.

I'm not sure about either of my systems being OK on the requirements. It looks like the requirements for this software were written assuming HD-DVD or BD playback, notice no mention of networking hardware, so I'm hoping that pulling the content from the DVR won't need as much horsepower since it will be 1080i max vs. 1080p content. Guess we'll find out in awhile.

it looks to just be a window with control of the Hr20 at this time, any chance of a windows media center integration?

Very cool interface from what I can see so far. My PC bugs out when I run it... screen goes all white with the waiting mouse cursor appears for about 30 - 45 seconds. It eventually came up, but it seemed to drive my PC nuts a bit. It also causes a pause on my system when exiting. Perhaps this is because I only have an Radeon X1300?

well i'll describe it to you, a flash of white and the fade in of the directv logo which in about 2 seconds fades agin to the blue for the server search sceen. I've been piddling with it and I know I've got to be buggin the hubby I shushed him (theres no sound so I don't know why i did that! awe i guess)

Yeah, I don't see any sort of splash screen. Eventually right before the interface pops up I see the DirecTV logo on both the left and right sides of my screen. Is there a splash screen upon exiting as well?

not a splash really, those come up before the main window of a program this happens as somewhat of an animation and it starts on both side fading to the center.

when you close down, it just closes, instantly (on my system anyway but it's rather beefy)

I only get the splash screen when first opening the program, not on exit.

Well at least it eventually opens for me!

Kind of worried if my video card is the cause of the slow load times and if that's going to be a factor in streaming videos... I was planning on upgrading my video card for Spore or Starcraft 2 (whichever comes first), but if the video card is indeed a problem I may very well upgrade it now. BF2142 would probably be more fun anyways :D
