For a simple install, can a pi29 be used in place of a pi21 ?

what is your diffenation of simple install?

If you are using a sl3 or sl5 single output dish, then yes a 29 will work just fine.

If you are using some thing else then maube no.

    Get us more details.

I don't know of any case where a PI 29 can't be used in place of a PI 21, for SWiM. I know of places where the 21 can't replace the 29.

Can a PI29 be used to power a 5D2RBLNBRO-01 through a 8-way splitter (in stead of the SWM-16 and until I clear out the 44/24s and replace them with a HS17)?

You can always replace a 21 volt with a 29 volt.
