? is since 1989 who is the top pitcher in the game.. Here are the records of the 4 guys that I feel belong in this argument, I use these 4 becuase they all been around about the same time guys like Mussina and Schilling either havnt been around as long or havnt been a starter long enough or effective as these 4 guys so here they are

    Since 1989

    Randy Johnson 191-101
    Roger Clemens 202-111
    Greg Maddux 231-120
    Tom Glavin 215-111

    So hows #1,2,3,4

If you are talking about regular season, I would take them in this order:

    Johnson
    Maddux
    Glavin
    Clemens

    For post season:
    Maddux
    Glavin
    Clemens
    Johnson

Even though Johnson had a good postseason last year, his record isn't that great over all. Not a bad choice though....

Where did you get those win totals? I found something different at MLB Historic Data.

BTW, I'm glad to see the bag come off! :hi:

Maddux for the past year???? No way! Does that include this year? Good thing about the Braves this year is that they are stinking up a storm like in the mid 80's. This is when Skip Caray is at his best, BTW!! :)

Johnson, Clemems, Maddux and Glavine will be my order. Glavine is fading fast. Clemens and Johnson are still pitching great. Maddux has struggled in some of his starts this year. The sign of age? I hope so...........

For the whole period, I'll submit this order:

    Maddux
    Clemens
    Johnson
    Kevin Brown
    Glavine

James, I'm not sure which site I was pulling these from, but here is the original list I pulled and I know it was from only 1989-2001

    1989-2001 G W L IP SO ERA
    Roger Clemens 405 202 111 2855.2 2732 3.12
    Greg Maddux 435 231 120 3115.1 2262 2.65
    Randy Johnson 397 197 101 2722.1 3387 3.13
    Tom Glavine 426 215 111 2874.1 1823 3.28
    Pedro Martinez 296 132 59 1693.0 1981 2.66
    Mike Mussina 322 164 92 2238.1 1749 3.49
    Curt Schilling 386 132 98 2144.0 2028 3.33

Let me change my rankings a bit:

    1. Greg Maddux
    2. Roger Clemens
    3. Randy Johnson
    4. Tom Glavine

Actually Pedro only been around since 1993 actually.. Secondly He only been a dominant pitcher since 1997...if he can keep up this pace and keep that era low as it hase been under 3.00 since 1997 then yes, i put him in the mix.. but right now he had a 5 yr window of greatness compared to 10 for the other 4 guys
