Yes, you need to see the 119 bird to get 578, which triggers for us, the Slimline 5LNB. Switching to the 3LNB (99, 101, 103) loses 578, and other channels.

AT&T is in the process of sunsetting the 119 satellite. All national channels on the 95 and 119 satellites now have duplicates on the following satellites:
    • 99CR - The Reverse Band of satellite 99 - Requires a Reverse Band LNB and receivers able to receive signals from the reverse band.
      • Duplicates on this satellite will have "(99R)" at the end of their names if you press "Guide" and highlight the channel name.
        • 511 - HBO Latino (SD only) [HD version of HBO Latino on satellite 99CA]
        • 578 - Playboy en Español
        • 2020 - 2024 - ItalianDIRECT (also on the 95 satellite)
        • 2030 - 2039 - VietDIRECT Plus (Vietnamese) (also on the 95 satellite)
        • 2050 - 2057 - MandarinDIRECT III (also on the 95 satellite)
        • 2060 - 2071 - FilipinoDIRECT (also on the 95 satellite)
        • 2080 - 2093 - KoreanDIRECT (also on the 95 satellite)
        • 2134 - 2135 - BrazilianDIRECT (Portuguese) (also on the 95 satellite)
        • 2140 - 2148 - RussianDIRECT/RussianDIRECT Plus/RussianDIRECT II (also on the 95 satellite)
    • 103CA - Standard HD transponder - requires a 3LNB and HD compatible equipment
      • Duplicates on this satellite will have "(103A)" at the end of their names if you press "Guide" and highlight the channel name.
        • 401 - 469 - Spanish Channels
        • Music Choice (only the ones that are on the 119 satellite)
          • 807 - Singers & Swing
          • 815 - Sounds of the Seasons
          • 824 - Lounge
          • 852 - Jazz
          • 853 - Easy Listening
          • 855 - Jazz Vocal Standards
          • 861 - K-Pop
          • 865 - Classical Masterpieces
          • 870 - Romances
          • 876 - Mexicana
          • 877 - Brazilian Pop
          • 880 - Party Favorites
          • 881 - Taste of Italy
          • 882 - Italian Favorites
          • 883 - Irish Favorites
          • 884 - Nature Sounds
        • 2102 - 2119 - ChineseDIRECT (Cantonese) (this set was hosted on 119 instead of 95)
Edit: This is from an earlier post here is an example of how a duplicate is named when it is on the 99R or 103A satellites.
(Note: All the Japanese International Channels are in HD and on the HD satellites available to anyone with HD equipment.)

My friend who is a contracted installer for DirecTV has said there really isn't a need for them to install a 5LNB anymore with the launch of the Spanish and Cantonese channels on the 103 satellite. They only install the standard 3LNB or the Reverse Band 3LNB now depending on the hardware on the order. If someone has Spanish channels they should be able to get them with a 3LNB setup now. They are most likely not aware that the Spanish Playboy is on the reverse band of satellite 99.

I have a regular 3LNB at my house and when the Spanish duplicates in the 400s, the Music Choice duplicates and the Cantonese duplicates went live I can now see them in my guide. Where I don't subscribe to the Spanish or Cantonese channels I get a 721 error but I can see them all grayed out when I switch my guide to "All Channels". Where I don't have a Reverse Band 3LNB I can't see anything from 99R. I also can't see the SD locals in my DMA because my SD locals are on the 119 satellite. My HD locals are on a spotbeam from satellite 99.

So now that RB is finally coming to fruition here with the loss of 119 for me, what is DirecTV’s plan to handle a customer like me with technically 32 Tuners? Yes I have a couple of HR24’s in my RV, but in the winter months here, they are in my house. Do I need to go with a MDU-type setup? I currently have a Slimline 5LNB legacy 4 port, into a parallel SWM-16 setup to handle everything. Thanks.

Get a SL5KRB legacy reverse band LNB and two more coaxes since it requires six, then you have 26 tuners per DSWM30 (13 per output) so I guess you'll need splitters like you have currently and two DSWM30s to reach 32. Or maybe cut back a bit down to "only" 26 tuners to make things simpler :D

You probably will need to DIY or get a third party installer. I doubt you'll be lucky enough to find a Directv installer who knows what they are doing with that unless they are one who also works commercial accounts.

Hmm...thanks for the input, good read. My legacy SL5LNB obviously only has 4 cables to the SWM16’s in the basement. They run inside walls, etc. and will be impossible to run 2 more cables without removing drywall. Not something I’m looking to do.

I guess I’m screwed for now, until another type of hardware becomes available to accommodate my setup, or surface mount cables, or deactivate receivers. Ugg....thanks again for the input though.

Any, I guess, "aesthetically pleasing" way to mount two DSWM-30s and the power-pass splitters outside near the dish somewhere. And use the four current coax lines to now feed the SWiM signals into the home to where the outputs of the current SWiM-16s run to?

What all is in your system now? Receivers and how it’s all wired in general. Especially how your two swim16s are bridged for deca.

I have a few ideas on how you could transform your system.

Also how many TVs and are there any (and how many) TVs you watch very rarely?

There is one way to update your system that would be pretty easy if your system is set the way I think it probably is.

How about installing a second dish? Two standard reverse band SWM dishes would use only two of those four coaxes. Technically that's only 26 tuners but so many people report having them work for 21 tuners that I doubt it would be a problem.

    Good idea ....

And hopefully there's no HOA to contend with or difficulties with a WAF or some other who will object to the un-aesthetics of it. ..

I have that already. The one on the left is the SL5 with the 4 port LNB. The one on the right was installed by a Tech in early 2017, with a RB 3LNB when I upgraded to 4K. It is not used right now, but has a cable run going down to the distribution spot in the basement. In my reading though, with all of the receivers I have, Whole Home doesn't get shared between the two legs of a DSWM-30, or has that changed?

Here is my distribution. The ICK's run to my router, so my HR54 and all other HD-DVR's are only connected via coax.

You can see the splitter below the lower SWM-16 and the corresponding power inserter for the dish installed by DirecTV in 2017 when I upgraded to 4K. It's currently not in use as we were having problems when it was connected using the HR54 as a bridge. Most every house and garage receivers are used on a daily basis by the family members/individuals. I'm going to deactivate my owned H24 since I just got another free HR24 via PP upgrade, so that drops one tuner. I also have two HR24's in my RV most of the year, every year, so there's another reduction of 4 tuners right now.

With the 119 bird going away (who knows exactly when), I would desire to get the 99RB working on my entire system, AND without losing WHDVR capability which is heavily used in our household. I hope to find a way with the runs I have to the roof to somehow manipulate and make this happen, once the 119 bird retires.

    Thanks for any help!!
