Taken the day before the bridge opened to traffic 7/9/2005
Awesome pic, was that taken with Digital or Film?
Here are a couple of contributions...
Photo 1 is a sunrise view on a recent cruise ship.
Photo 2 is a schnauzer...or else a cloud I saw on that same ship.
Of Dan Folgelberg doing what he did best. Taken at Red Rocks Amphitheater, Summer 2002. What a great night and a spectacular venue. 2 years later he was diagnosed with advance prostate cancer at the age of 53. He was gone only 4 years later.....
1 out of 5 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point in their lives. PSA testing saves lives. If your over 45 have yours checked annually.
I'm not in the same league as a lot of you folks but here are some of my better efforts that don't include people.
Midnight Moon in Alaska
Turned around and took the sunset
Glacier Bay, earlier that day
Got this one in Puerto Rico 3 weeks ago...
A picture from May 12, 2009. The series can be found here: http://www.pbase.com/rking401/may_12_2009
Very good Dan picture. Along with lightning, I like to take pix of live music acts. I suspect I posted these before, but don't want to go through all the pages in this thread. Here's a link to some pix from the CES show in 2007.

I had the test a month ago and all was well with the world. I ended up in there because of bladder stones, not fun.
Edit: Here's Brian (More at the links)
My cats Sime and Sammy.
Okay, here's an example of playing with photoshop. I took the original picture from inside the Epcot-bound monorail at Disney. I liked the sunset and all, but the timing was off so I ended up getting the lamppost right in the middle of the shot. Take a look at the second "'shopped" photo........ while I was at it, I got rid of the cranes in the background.
I have a picture almost identical to that, down to the tabby striped cats!! But mine is from 1987 and both of those babies have passed. I don't have it on the computer. I am going to try to post a few of my favorite pix.
Okay - here's my attempt:
Most are spontaneous pictures of my daughter - and I thought they turned out pretty darned good as it is a digital camera that I do nothing but point and shoot with! There is our driveway this winter in the middle of a snow storm (my hsuband's truck buried in the snow). Our 27lb cat, a 9/11 remembrance done by one man every year on a highway pretty far north of town. And lastly, our local moose checking out my dog.
Mods: How about making this a sticky thread, so it's easier to find (and post)?
Here's a couple. The first I took while in Chi-town back in 2005:
The other I didn't take but am still proud of - it's USS IOWA (BB61) signed for me by her skipper, Captain Larry Seaquist.
This is a picture of my granddaughter while she was stationed in Baghdad. She is an Army journalist/photographer. She took the other picture in a market in Baghdad. Notice the soldier and his dog. The dogs name is GGina.
Not my picture, but I thought you all could appreciate it. We had some major flooding in S.E. Wisconsin and this is what happened to an Escalade in Milwaukee. The man insidee was rescued but the SUV remained running for quite a while.
My wife took this one...
Here's a few of my favorites I took, still learning how to use my DSLR but I get better with every shot I take
