    HI,
Quick question - Trying to hook my HR24 backup and can not remember which connection on the back of the dvr that the power inserter goes. On the satellite connections it says (swm-2 and 2. Afraid if I plug the inserter into the wrong one it will fry the dvr.

Use the connection on the Power Inserter that says "to IRD" and connect it to the swm-2 connection.

    Edit / Correction ?
My HR24 is connected to the connection on the far left when you are looking at the back. I can not turn it enough to read what it says but I feel it is input 1 or sat 1.

    Correct ...

Be careful because even if you connect the PI to the correct SWM port on the receiver, you can still damage it if you connect the PI backwards with the "to ODU" connected to the receiver.

OK, I have cable from dish going to "power to swm" and cable from "Signal to IRD" going to SWM-2 on HR24 and still get the 775 error. Here is what I have done. The DVR upstairs (HR44-700) rebooted this morning and then I got the 775 error on it. I am going to check all connections and then may half to call.

There is probably a splitter in the line. The Power Inserter cable connects to the port that says power passing. If it is not there the power can not get to the LNB.

The other day I got the 775. I checked my fitting on the back of my HR 24 and it was just barely loose. I tightened it with my fingers and the error went away.
