Interesting that they are starting preorders on the AM21 http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=121199
They better get the support for it in the national release soon... Or is it there just not showing yet?

SS also had pre-orders for the R16 about 3 months before it's release.

Once they have official information on how they will get it from DirecTV.
They (and other retailers) are trying to gobble up all the pre-orders

I really wonder if they will charge the corrected price at a point when its released, or will they charge the $99 to everone who pre-orders? Sorry I feel really negative today, I turn thirty something tommorrow.

Man, the natives sure are getting restless...

As for SS and their price I would bet that they hold true to their word and refund the difference when/if D* tells them it's not going to be $99. They are a reputable company that would not want to peeve off their customer base like that.

    Happy Birthday tomorrow!!

As, for the $99.00 price. I would say if that is the price that Directv is going to charge. There is going to be alot of pissed off people. Because, it was stated back in January that it was going to be around $50.00 and we all know how alot of people here like to complain. :D I for one probably would not pay the $99.00 price tag. In my own opion that is a little high. Hopefully that is not true. :)

I guess we can argue price points all we want. So my argument is....$59 was a good psychological price point for those of us who wanted to retain the capability. Those who get most locals in HD but can't get PBS in HD through DirecTV will probably just wait it out at $99. Those who can't get any of their locals yet in HD via DirecTV will have an interesting decision.

    Thank you

Yea I would agree $99 is a little high to me too! To each his own though. SS may be a reputable company but its all about gross profit sometimes. Not net. I would bet they didn't give back the difference. ( I could be wrong and hopefully I am) Plus people who have waited may be able to get one directly from D* with out a hassle for less.

    Definitely. I can't think of any pre-order that isn't.

Solidsignal most likely will change the price. Thery are pretty good about that. They honored the $949 price they gave me on my original HR10 even after DirecTV enforced their MAP of $999.

But keep in mind that DirecTV could probably sell every HR20 they could make at $299 vs. $199 for HR21. People would save a $1.;)
