$99.99 and $99.99 for the Wireless Video Bridge.

That's kind of steep. DirecTv has been providing the WVB for free.

Not for much longer. the "rumor mill" has it that once it goes "main stream" there would be a charge for the WVB

you might have to, but as with everything with DirecTV it maybe "negotiable" depending on you account

I don't have much experience with "Rumor Mills". Just what I see hands on. Free WVB...and for the most part...free C41W's.

Gotta wonder about that. I mean, the product has to come out sooner or later but is this finally the time?

    Littleton,...
Guess I am lucky I got one in a beta market. Mine was free including the install.

Interesting that the installer insisted the WVB go where the HR21 I got rid of was. I wanted it by my main TV and asked him if he could just use the pass through. He said no that he would not install it that way. After he left I moved it myself and performance has been flawless!

People bi**** and moan enough about the performance of the hardware when its wired, I'm not sure I'll want to be around for the potential issues when everyone wants wireless clients.....

everyone wants wireless audio speakers, wireless mouse and keyboard, , etc...but then they spend the rest of their time complaining about performance hits that plague most of that stuff.....many people have less than stellar wireless performance in their homes due to environmental conditions.

I'll bet for someone it will work even better than wired. it's really all going to depend on each persons home. Plain and simple. Some will be great others not so much.

That's probably why DIRECTV training on the WVB/C41W's say that the C41W's MUST has a green signal LED in order to complete the install, anything less and they need to find a different location for the WVB or add another one. I can say that I've moved a C41W around so that it shows a red signal reading and performance is still just as good as when it's green. But like you said everyone's home can present its own conditions that make a wireless solution not workable.

But there may be a wire run available available for a WVB location where the C41W is more challenging.
