I am exploring setting up for Dish (I was with large satellite up until about 2004) cable after that. My neighbor recently quit dish and gave me the satellite dish that was left behind that is only two years old.I am a little confused as I thought Dish uses satellites at 110,119 and 129 degrees in Washington state. In looking at his set up they only ran cables to the house from two LNB's. Is satellite 129 not actively used here????

If you're an HD sub (and most are now) - you are correct - 129,119, and 110. What may be confusing you is that the head is also a switch, so any of the 3 outputs can get signal from any of the 3 LNBs plus the wing input. Does that help ?

You don't identify what dish you have if your neighbor was a SD customer it could be a DISH 500 used for only the 110 & 119 satellites. If you have a 1000.2 western arc it may have been used to feed only 2 HDTV receivers 1 cable for each.
