Press Release:The Mtn. network will be in HD for approx. 9 hrs. on 11/22/08

I posted this in The mtn.??? thread a few minutes ago,but didn't think too many folks would look at that.So,for fans of The Mtn. Network,here you go.
On Nov. 22,2008,The Mtn. will televise programming in HD for approx. 9 hours.
Programming includes:
MWC Football Saturday
Colorado State @ Wyoming at 12PM MT
BYU @ Utah at 4PM MT
This will be a one day only event for this season.
Kim Carver,VP & GM of The Mtn. Network made this announcement live during halftime of the San Diego State @ Wyoming game today.She also stated that they hope to be full-time HD next season.
DirecTV and cable customers are mentioned in the press release link above.

Just spoke to another CSR who then escalated the issue to a tech support person. That person said the HD feed is not available yet and that they are working on getting it on and hopefully it will be on later today.

Unbelievable that they had ample time to get this going and could not deliver it on time.

I just get the 721 message here. The people I spoke with at DIRECTV sound clueless as to this network even having an HD feed.

I got a second email back from The Mtn. and they stated that they "assure" me that they are not blacking out the channel.

One game is already a half hour old and I have no guide data for any other games today on the HD feed (616-6).

Glad to see the CSR's get these memos about channels that are supposed to be active on a certain date. I enjoy college and pro football, that is my main reason for having DIRECTV since 1995. But in recent years DIRECTV has not ben able to handle blackouts too well for me and then you have issues such as todays. If they are having a technical issue, tell us when we call. They are acting like we are nuts for even mentioning The Mtn. in HD, like it does not exist.

Yes, we had trouble with DirecTV the day they launched the network as
well. we have no idea why this is an issue.

So, you have the HD package, you have asked THEM to reset your box and
you have scrolled through to get Channel 616-1?

I told them in a response back just to come to this site and see the trouble people are having and the misinformation they are getting from DIRECTV.

I have been emailing back and forth with The Mtn. They just sent this response back to me:

Thanks for your reply. Stay with us - we'll get this figured out! We
have heard from other people who are having the same problem, in fact
someone from the Conference office is having the issue too so we are
working with him to try and find something that works here. Once we do,
we can share the information and we'll also post it on our website.

Unfortunately, we are currently out of suggestions. But we're here,
we're looking into it and we'll figure this out.

If you find a solution in the meantime, we'd be grateful if you could
write back and share it with us.

Still getting the 721 message here.
I have refreshed services online,also called DirecTV and informed them what was going on.
They refreshed our services while I was on the phone with them,to no avail.The man I talked to in tech support said that he would escalate the issue and hopefully get it resolved soon.
He appeared to be pretty knowledgable about the situation.
While I was on the phone with him,I got him to access The Mtn. website and he saw the page on their site stating that the channel is supposed to be in HD on 616-1 today.
I asked him to read the info on that page back to me,and he did read it back to confirm that he actually saw the info posted on The Mtn. website.

Aside from not receiving 616-1 (It's says channel not purchased.), I have a strange issue. I can receive the 616 SD channel on my SD receiver, but am currently getting a searching for signal message on my HDDVR. Actually, since the channel has gone up I've had the problem that the HD receiver will sometimes not get the channel or it will be digitally broken up but the SD receiver gets it just fine. This seems to be the only channel with this problem. Any ideas?

Sounds like you may have gotten someone who knows what is going on. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

I'll fill in for SatRacer on this one... All levels of tech support ARE currently aware of the problem. D* Engineering is working to find out the root cause and correct it ASAP.
