I couldn't believe it when I was poking around the menus on my R22 yesterday and discovered a new "adults only" icon in the search menu! It even had a fancy red fire logo (I'm surprised they didn't just put the picture of a red light bulb there).

Is that how low DirecTV is sinking for a few extra bucks? It's bad enough their "movies" search icon is just an ad for their "DirecTV Cinema" PPV movies but now pushing those obnoxious porn channels?

NATURALLY I selected it (like everyone else who discovers it will probably do including children) but all I got was an error 1584 (or something like that) message. What a letdown! I thought a video featuring Hugh Hefner would begin playing! :glasses:

It disappears when the parental controls are enabled, provided that the parents use them.

Also, the movies option isn't limited to PPV, when I click What's on Now, I see options for movies playing on Lifetime Movie Network, HBO, Cinemax, TVGN, Sundance, Ovation, Reelz, Encore, IFC, etc.

SEX SELLS!...... Always did, always will. We are bombarded daily with advertisements, TV commercials, TV programing, and movies that have sexual content. If there wasn't a demand for it the media wouldn't be pumping it out. DirecTV is a business. In the business world you either bend with the breeze or you break. If there wasn't a demand for adult entertainment DirecTV wouldn't have placed the Adults Only icon in the Search & Browse menu. People like you who find that icon offensive have options. Use the Parental Controls to disable it or ignore it.

I went into parental controls and turned off the MA movies and the fire logo went away.
In the early morning / night time movies when you come upon one in the guide that is MA rated it says "Blocked Title".

    "obnoxious porn"...

Remember, we are all here today because of some version of "obnoxious porn". :D

Just use your parental controls. Do you really need "big brother" to think for you? If you like porn, watch it. If not, use the controls to block it. I'm a big boy and can think for myself and welcome a company that lets ME make my own decisions.
