Thanks for clarifying that for me. Never happy with an increase though.

Haha :hurah: I don't drive too much actually. I walk almost everywhere. Doesn't affect me too much. Maybe I'm too busy watching tv and should get out and drive.

It was enough to get me to check out the price for FIOS instead, and after 8 years with DirecTV, I'm switching. I can get all of the movie channels, 3 HD DVRs (with DTV I had 2 hd dvrs and an sd dvr), the Red Zone Channel, the movies that are 3d on HBO and Starz are actually available on demand in 3d, I'll get G4 back, and pay less than I was paying for the Choice package with HBO and Starz. The price is gauranteed for 2 years and there is no contract. I'm going to miss Sunday Ticket and the next season of Damages, but for me, the change was worth it. I wouldn't have even looked had I not got another price increase.

Sounds like it was the right move for your situation. I have Verizon fios available in my area but only sub to their phone and 'net svc. They can't offer me the same sports HD feeds that D* can (CI, EI, etc). That, in addition to ST absence, keeps me from making the switch to fios.

+1. In fact, I moved from FiOS TV to DTV four years ago when DTV added MSG and MSG+ in HD. For internet, though, FiOS is second to none.

In the real world only big companies get increases.
The working stiff nolonger gets pay increases.
It may be time to just use OTA and cancel expensivetv.
