I have a VIP 722 Duel on TV 1 and TV 2 the remote won't hardly change the cannel or even work the dish the receiver at all unless I get right at the receiver or for tv 2 right at the TV, I changed the bats and all the other works fine like turning and and off the TV or the vol control, this has to do with just the Sat, so I am not sure whats wrong.

I just had this problem a couple weeks ago after I upgraded to a VIP222. I suspect that this will fix your problem. The UHF remote is still not as strong as my old receivers UHF remote. But it works much better now than the default setting.

You can always make a "pigtail", which is an extension for the remote antenna, or make sure the antenna is connected and as exposed as possible.

I do recommend changing the remote address though (even the band it operates on)

I have had this problem ever since I got the 722k also. You have to push the pad buttons so hard to even get the television to change channels. I had the 622 before this and that remote worked with just a slight touch.

I had the same problem and just use my old silver remote that worked on my 522 and don't use the new one. I have no idea why they made the new remotes less powerful.

I have a spare HDTV "rabbit ears" antenna and I connect it to the remote antenna output. (same coax connector) Doesn't seem to make the range any longer than the stock pigtail remote anetnna. However, I did notice that the remote is now more responsive. :)
