So, after biting my tongue several times, my opinion hasn't changed. I realize that most of the CSRs don't lie deliberately, but I know I've been lied to on several occasions (that's an understatement) by CSRs who should have known better. When I argued back, they put me on hold and check with someone who has some idea what's going on and then apologize. That's if I'm lucky, usually the phone goes dead. The biggest lie? "I'll call you back." Rarely happens.

Trust me, I agree with you. I know their CSR flat out lie, The best is when you already know the answers you seek, and then their caught.

I made the mistake of calling Microsoft the other day. What a nightmare! I didn't get lied to, but I didn't understand much of what was said. I do wish that companies with the money that Microsoft has would spring for USA based call centers. Gotta give credit to D* for not putting us thru what I went thru the other day.

I'm not xenophobic, but I don't speak any other language and I just couldn't understand the CSRs at Microsoft.

From how I understand it the $50 cost of the service call will come out of your pocket. However, any equipment needed to get you back up and running (replacement coax/connectors, replacement LNB/Dish, replacement power inserter/splitters, etc.) will be provided for free.

It has also been noted here on a few occasions if you are a good customer that DirecTV will usually allow one service call for free per year if you complain about being charged (although this is not guaranteed)

    That's sounds much better .
If they want to grant me ownership of all this equipment, then I'll gladly pay, but since I'm claimed to be leasing it , then that's on them.

I love the PPP. My 9 year old 50" Plasma started taking 15 minutes to come on, so I call DTV. They sent out a tech for a local TV repair center. He ordered a part and came back a week later to put in the new part. It was close, but the wrong part. Got an email a week later stating they would replace the TV. The email gave me several replacement tv options. I seclected a 50" Vizio 2014 model LED. The insurance company ordered the tv at my local Bestbuy and I went and picked up the TV......I could not be happier!

But you have to get the truck to roll. I've stopped bothering with the PP people, I go directly to Retention. I'm kinda sure if you told the good folks at Retention the truth, a truck would appear.

Integrity: Doing whats right legally AND morally. PP / PPP Cover Electrical and mechanical failures and now also cover accidental and unintentional issues.

If you are unsure what you are paying for read the Full terms on D* website at http://www.Directv.com/protectionplan
