Recently we had some new neighbors move in and i noticed that there dish (Dish Network) setup has one dish pointing towards the southern sky the same way my dtv dish is,but i also noticed there is another DN dish pointing another way,the second dish is sorta pointed downwards. Im just curious to know why they are running two dish network dishes.

They are probably picking up a wing satellite, 61.5 or 148. Many cities have extra locals on a wing satellite - plus there are six additional "Public Interest" channels there, and a lot of international channels. If the "2nd dish" is pointing more to the East than the main dish they are probably picking up 61.5 ... which is also home to Voom and SkyAngel. SkyAngel would be using a DishNetwork dish, Voom uses a similar dish.

I've got two dishes as well. Some people here have many more.

Why don't you just go make friends with your new neighbors and ask them?

Or do you live in a city?

I always thought that the DISH 500 can only get programming from 110 and 119.

It actually can get signal from any 2 Ku-DBS satellites 9 degrees apart, so could get 101/110 DIRECTV if you wanted.
