    Hi,

Can anyone offer some tips on easier ways to do stuff on the R15.
    (For stuff that works, anyway....)

For example: is there an easier way to delete Todo list items than navigating the menus, perhaps some equivelent of the Tivo's CLEAR button?
Is there a shortcut for entering letters into the find screen, or a faster way to prioritize SLs?
What, exactly does the dash-dash do and why???

Or if there's already a list of this sort somewhere, can some one point me to it...?

    Thanks,

Here is the older thread: http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=48221&highlight=tips

    To answer your questions:
To Do List: There is no quick delete
    ShortCut for Letters: Nope
Faster Way to Prioritize: Nope, but they are working on it

Dash-Dash is a short cut to DELETE (just like Clear, with no confirmation) that works in about half the menus

Thanks. I see in that other thread some else had the same experience I did with dash-dash deleting an entire group of shows...too dangerous to use for now I think.

The hitting the instant replay button to get out of FF sounds like a great idea...if it works it should ease my wife's 30-sec-skip-loss anger.

Cool, that is such a pain to manage in it's current form.

Are they working on making this easier too? I miss being able to mark and delete my Todo list.

I for one would like how the R10 does it as far as adding SL's the R15 always puts your most rescent as #1 and then you have to arrange everything. New shows should be put at the bottom and IF you want it higher you can move it.

I think it should ask you when you setup the SL the long way which place you want to insert it at. It already tells you on the SL screen what it's place is, might as well let you change it there too.

DTivos add Season Passes to the bottom of the list. But it's still a pain if you want to move it up. No real go way, top or bottom.

Heck, even a "do you want to set the priority of the S/L now?" when you add one would be useful.

I'd think there should a choice to set that on the same screen that should be there to set the other default recording options, like number of episodes to save, repeat/first run, whether to clip, etc...have I just not found it yet, or is there currently no way to modify the defaults? (I don't mean changing the defaults individually for a SL, I mean a way to set what the defaults are.)

Yes there is a way to change the defaults. While you are in the SL screen hit menu again and this will bring up the default options.

Another cool thing would be a priority list by day of the week. Or at lease be able to view it that way too.

While surfing programming guide use "left arrow" button to highlight channel number - channel acronym/abbreviation ex. 339 FUSE

Hit "info" button to bring up the programming for that channel.

I use this trick often. Favorite channels = favorite programs!!!:D
