    While we should certainly note that there is not an HD upgrade path (and we have no knowledge if there ever will be one), it is still of some interest that the unit is virtually identical in visibly identifiable physical construction to the HR21-200. Comparison to the R22-100 is also valid, however that is from a different manufacturer, so I would certainly expect many differences. I have not looked at the HR21-100 versus the R22-100, but would expect those to be virtually identical to each other from a physical construction perspective.

    I am not the person to talk about the Broadcom (or other) chip(s), but I am willing to plagarize a bit from the HR21-200 first look as well as the R22-100 first look and put something together if no one else does (with applicable acknowledgement as to the source of the information).

    What the heck, no one wants to do the first look, I didn't contribute much/anything to the 100 because, well, I just didn't know what to put into one. If I get an R22-200 to look at, I'll return my leased R15, so I can take a first look I'll throw something together to be nit picked and perfected. No one is in this thing alone. I am thinking with the length of time this thread has been open, this should have been done by now.

    I'm fairly certain that the First Look is getting done. ;)

    however, we just got the inside photos posted yesterday. so now we're in the process of adding this to what has already have been done by Spanky and myself.
    your gesture is well taken and very thoughtful. just one thing to remember, we aren't just doing a review on just 1 reciever. we are having to tie info from both of these.

    Oh I thought the length that this thread was open was because it wasn't getting done.... Sorry.....

    That would kinda be a slap in the face to D* if no one was working on it. After seeing the R22-100 one it shouldn't be too tough, and like I said ours was posted and people commented and I'm sure the mods. had input into it aswell.

    I do sincerely apologize for not volunteering for the First Look doc. I certainly wouldn't mind - I worked on the R16 First Look, but things are stupid-hectic right now.

    My wife is away on a family trip this week;
    Which means I'm home babysitting my 1-year-old;
    I started a new job in April which means I don't have enough vacation time yet to take this week off ...

    So I'm trying to manage my workload, babysit and, oh, we have my son's 1st birthday party this coming weekend. In our backyard. Where I just ground out a huge tree stump over the holiday weekend. Which means I have a giant hole in the ground I need to fill and cover. Not to mention reassembling the fence, and setting up the 20'x30' tent. All before the weekend.

    ... and while I watch the baby & work at the same time.

    Seriously though - if you need me to pitch in with anything, please, email me directly -- dmurphy@hp.com -- I'm available via email a lot more than I am on the forum. :)

    I have not volunteered because I am not nearly as technologically proficient as most of you and I lack imagination for creating written documents. I am, however, a STUPENDOUS typist and speller! So I totally volunteer for grunt labor of any kind necessary. If I have other people's words in front of me, I can put together a great looking document.

    Just let me know in whatever way I can help!!

    True enough!!!

    It's just hard juggling conference calls, designing systems and making sure Ryan isn't eating vaseline all at the same time ;)

    I think Tom might have it now. I did some minor adding on the conclusion. You and GWV did a pretty good job on it. :)
