I still have 2 r22 that I would like to upgrade, to something that does the season episode type listing. What are my options? Right now I have a genie, hr24 and 2 r22. I like to have the extra Dvr’s. Thanks Michael

HR24 which will incur a new 2 year contract.

"The Plan coverage commences one (1) calendar month from the date of purchase of the Plan and is effective for a period of six (6) months, billed monthly, unless cancelled. After six (6) months, the Plan will automatically renew on a month to month basis unless the Plan is cancelled"..."Being enrolled in the Plan for greater than twelve (12) consecutive months also allows you to upgrade your DIRECTV receiver every two (2) years from the initial date of installation of your DIRECTV system or from the date of any prior upgrade received".

If the R22 "isn't working" call them up and tell them it is broken. I seriously doubt they will ship you anything other than an HR24. All you will be out is $20 bucks for shipping and you won't incur a contract.

I have an R22 and have just been too lazy to do the same. No one should be subjected to them. They are complete POS to the point they are unusable when you first start to use them after being gone all day. Keybounce, long delays in channel changes, no response to the remote....etc etc.

Based on what? To my knowledge, they aren’t shipping out any more “SD” DVRs.

Take the Suggestion and call in and say the R22 are Dead and will not power up --That will save needless testing time --You have nothing to lose and everything to gain -without a new commitment.

Wow. No kidding....I would have thought they all would have been trashed by now. The things are awful.

A couple of years ago, my R22 "died" and I called in for a replacement. It took a bit of back-and-forth discussion with the CSR, but eventually they sent me an HR24 as a replacement. The biggest hangup I had on the call was that the R22 is technically an SD DVR and the CSR considered an HR2x an HD upgrade. We went back and forth for awhile about how the R22's were HD capable and I wasn't going to settle with a mini or a non-DVR as a replacement. After about 15 minutes and a hold while she talked to her boss, she came back and authorized the HR replacement.

Boy that sucks, just got my replacement in and it’s a R22...I guess I have to call in and see what they will do.
