i wanted to confirm something...my dish network receiver box has rca cables and also a tv-out.

now can i watch something on the tv-out cable - attached to my tv and at the same time see it on my computer though the rca connections on my ati all in wonder video card...or do i have to turn the tv off in order to see the signal on the computer...is that possible....need to know before i start making holes in the floor...he he he

pukar, your answer is yes. I have an ATI All-In-Wonder capture/tuner card that I run the S-Video out from my Home Theater receiver into and I get a very nice picture on my computer monitor. If you don't have a HT receiver you can run the extra composite output into your ATI.

As Mark stated, if you can, DON'T use the coax output to watch on your TV, that is the worst PQ you can get from the 501.

All the connections on your 501 are "hot" which means you can view them all at the same time. So you could potentially view the same signal on 4 different displays at the same time using:

    1) S-Video out
    2) Composite Out #1
    3) Composite Out #2
    4) RF
