We are redoing our small backyard (650 sq ft). We would like to do a hardscape with minimal plants so basically 3 feet strips of grasses/plants on the side and the rest hardscape. Probably end up with multiple planters etc.

We're looking at either stamped concrete or pavers. Anyone do this recently or would like to share opinions?

We installed a stamped concrete patio over 15 years ago and still love it. We picked a slate design which has a number of concave stamps where rainwater and snow collect, trapping dirt. When it dries you can see dirty/discolored areas. It's not terrible looking, and a hose and broom clean it up, so not the end of the world. I usually seal it every other year after a good powerwash. Doesn't cost too much for the sealer and a roller.

Thanks. We decided on pavers. The company we hired has a 25 year warranty to fix anything that breaks/cracks, etc. They were slightly over the bid of the concrete but we're getting 2 stone benches additional.
