Just turned my tv on and a DIRECTV message was on my screen that my receiver hasn’t received any guide info in over 1 hour. Just tried doing a reset on my H25/500 Receiver and Now it will not receive any Satellite Info and there are 2 screens that are jumping back and forth. One is DIRECTV Signal Loss the 771 Error screen. And the other screen is saying Acquiring Guide Data. Thanks for your patience.

You've lost the sat signal, which is why you have no guide and why the receiver won't start up again. Could be cable/connector issue although I think you would be getting a 775 error if that was the case, because there would be no power to the dish from the power inserter. Most likely your dish is completely out of alignment - look at the dish and see if the azimuth or elevation has shifted. You might also have a faulty lnb.

Just called DIRECTV. There is a message when you call they know about the guide data issue and say not to reboot or reset your receiver (something I already did) but now my receiver has started working again but everything is in SD NOT HD. All HD CHANNELS & MY LOCAL CHANNELS are GONE.

No it’s not a faulty LNB. They are working on the system apparently.

I go the Guide Data message.
Checked my signal strength, did the System test. All was well.
I have had these 2 or 3 times in the past on my son's H24 but they always go away.

Problem is They are asking not to reset your receiver which I already did when I saw the message and I didn’t know to not reset the receiver. Now programming has come back but I have lost Local Channels & All HD Channels are gone. SD Channels are on.

Just got off the phone with DIRECTV. They are experiencing an outage and know about the guide data issue. DO NOT RESET YOUR RECEIVERS the tech told me.

    I did not Reset.
I ran the system test. Not the same.
You might try running the System Refresh to see if that brings your channels back.
    What does “refreshing service” mean?

I might try that Jimmie57. The Tech took my e-mail address and he specifically told me not to refresh my receiver until I receive an e-mail telling me the problem has been fixed. He said only then

I am having the same issue, HR44 rebooted on its own around 10a Pacific. Gets to 98% acquiring data then goes to a different screen that just says "Acquiring guide data. Thanks for your patience." Signal meter shows signal at good strength across all satellites.

I went to check if my other receiver (HR24) was having issues and found it frozen. As soon as I unplugged it my HR44 came to life, and after a long boot up, the HR24 is working too, so all back to normal for me.

I never received an E-Mail BUT I was watching TV and all of a Sudden on its own (I Did Not Change the channel) my receiver by itself changed the channel I was watching to Channel 201. So after a minute or so I tried changing my channels and ALL HD channels returned to my receiver and ALL Locals returned. VERY Strange activity. I never received an E-Mail from DIRECTV yet by the way like the person I spoke with said I would. All programming has returned and all appears to be back to normal.

This has happened to my system 2 or 3 times over the years.
I believe it is always a DirecTV problem and nothing with my system?
Always seems to clear up after a couple of hours. Just my experience, YMMD
