I spend six months of the year in Florida and six months of the year in New York State. When I'm in Florida, I have no problem receiving local channels, but when I return to an area fifty miles from the Canadian Border in New York State, I am told by the Dish Network Customer Service Person I am unable to receive locals. Is there anyway for me to receive Dish Locals without going through the Distant Networks Eligibilty and paying some California Company money just to get NBC and Fox for a fee? I've done that the past few summers in NY.

Other than using an OTA antenna, no, you are already using the only legal method to get local content via satellite for your area.

When you say "some California company" do you mean All-American Direct? They provide distant networks from NY, Chicago, and SF. This works for me, as I do 6 mo in Alaska, 6 mo in Arizona.

    And they're in Indiana...not California. :)
