I have the America's Everything pak and was interested in going to the HD packages. My current receiver pak is

    Primary Receiver 510D
    Receiver # 2 is 510D
    Receiver #3 is 522 DuoDVR
    Receiver #4 is 301D

What kind of receivers/configuration would you guys recommend? I'm thinking of adding two 722, (1) 510, and one other single hd receiver. I'm not interested in back wiring through the walls. Will dish waive the 17dollars fee with the everthing pak? My current bill is about 130.

Dream on about fees being waived. As an existing customer you might qualify for 6 months of credits, but DISH didn't raise prices to give the profits away. The new prices are to new to really be able to offer suggestions. You will have to decide on your own personal viewing habits and how deep your wallet is.

    I would get a 722k and 3 211s.

The 722k has a 500GB internal HDD and the 211's can have DVR capabilityfor a one time $39.99 fee and each only has a $7 monthly receiver fee.

The 722k will be included in your programming package.

For about $100 per 211 you can make them all DVRs (either EHD or USBadapter +SATA HDD).

I currently have a 722k and 3 211's with the grandfathered HD Absolute package. My bill is less than $70 per month even with the receiver fees.

    AEP - $99
    HD - $10
    DVR - $6
    RCVR1 - $7
    RCVR2 - $7
    RCVR3 - $7

    TOTAL - $136 plus tax.

He will only be able to lease the 722K and two 211s, then buy a third 211 for $150. But the EHD idea is a great one, remember you can use OTA on the 211 and record off OTA and the satellite feed.

The 722 will also record ota, correct?

Can you expand on, "For about $100 per 211 you can make them all DVRs (either EHD or USBadapter +SATA HDD)"?

The 612/622/722 series all have one OTA tuner from which you can record. The 722k has an OTA two-tuner module from which you can record two OTA programs, but the module is optional and you pay $40 for it.

If you hook a USB EHD (regardless of configuration options) to the 211 that EHD becomes the equivalent of a DVR's internal hard drive.

You pay one $39.99 fee to activate external hard drive on the 211 then you have to buy the external hard drive to connect to each 211. The cost of the hard drive is the "For about $100". You can swap HD from one 211 to another but it can't be used with 612/622 or 722 dual tuner DVRs.

If you wanted to share it with the 612/622 series you would have to pay Another $39.99 archive charge to allow the dvr's to use the EHD's.

As boba said, "...it can't be used with 612/622 or 722 dual tuner DVRs" referring to the EHD's from the 211's.

Not a big deal, as dish has lowered prices on switches, but a 1-722 and 3-211 setup would require the purchase of a 44 switch to support the 4th reciever.

I chatted with d today and they said I can't have two 722 and two 510 on my account. Anybody heard of this?

4 tuners was the leased maximum, that was supposed to go up to 6 tuners on Feb 1st. CSR didn't get the word? Maybe there is a limit on 722s play CSR roulette and see what happens.:)

You can have 2 722s and 2 510s (and more) on an account, but generally, they can't all be leased. They used to have a limit of 4 leased outputs and recently increased that to 6 leased outputs. But when they went to 6, they also restricted it to 3 leased receivers. Someone that already had the 722s and 510s leased can continue to (and they had to get there with some of the various exceptions to the previous leased output limits).

You could lease two 722s and a 510, but the 4th receiver would have to be purchased. That's why coldsteel replied about the purchase one of the 211s. I'd guess you already have a DPP44 to feed the existing 5 tuners, but you could also have two ganged DP34s and have two coax lines for your 522. If it were a new sub, DISH would only provide switch equipment for 3 receivers and someone buying the 4th receiver would also be responsible for switch equipment to feed the 4th receiver (DPP44). That might get in the way of an upgrade now - I don't really know.
