Strange... the Fox OTA issues disappeared earlier this year at my end (Fox 29 - Buffalo/Grand Island NY) ... but mysteriously reappeared recently, as outlined in this thread:

    Bugger. :new_cussi

Well, if you can tie it to the time frame of the "new" splicer install, that sort of implies it really does have something to do with disruptions at the splice point. Remember, non-net programming also goes through the ROSA system (MPEG splicers). FOX is actually using two splicers now daisy-chained, the new one (for actual splicing) and the original one (for logo overlays only).

As a matter of fact, the FOX crew has been recently visiting each station to do the final upgrade (install the new software). My local station is next week, so it will be interesting to see if the problem begins here.

Guys, I am having the same problem as mentioned, specifically, in the quote above with my local FOX affiliate. It began last week with American Idol on Wednesday, 09 May 2012. Any FOX show I record seems to have at least one if not all 3 symptoms. I cannot record my local FOX 44-1 here in Waco, anymore.

I have 2 HR21-700's, each with AM-21's and Whole Home DVR with the connected ethernet splicers.

Ironically, this is the second time this has happened. Over a year ago, I had D*V out here to look at my equipment and find out what was wrong as I had the exact problems with my local NBC affiliate, 6-1. I finally had to give up and re-add my locals to my package, again. The D*V broadcast of NBC 6-1 is just fine. As of last week, the same is now happening with FOX.

Once is a problem, twice is suspicious. Is there something that my local FOX changed that is now interfering with the way the AM-21 enters my HR21?

I, too, have Fox OTA recording issues through my AM21 and HR23. Only mine manifest in only the top 1/3rd of the screen showing during FF or rewind. The bottom 2/3rds goes blank. Been like this for years, I just lived with it.

Yep. Same thing here in Eugene. KLSR Fox 34.1 does the same thing. It is the only OTA channel that does this as far as I can tell. We don't get HD LIL (Yet, supposedly coming this year) and SD is unwatchable, so OTA is the only choice. Happens on both HD DVR's that have AM-21's as well as an HR20-700 with internal OTA. Same as you, I have just learned to live with it. Would be nice to see it fixed, but I don't watch much network programming, so no big deal.
