I'm trying to program my remote (R65X) to see my Bose Lifestyle 48, Series 3. Anybody got any ideas? I called DTV and they gave me two codes, but neither work... are there more codes out there that I can try or am I SOL? I can code the Bose to accept Direct, but not vice versa... or is it verse visa... anyway, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Was 31933 one of the codes they suggested?

The online code finder suggests that code and another six "if that doesn't work" codes.

No that code wasn't what I was given. Where is this code guide you spoke about? I'll try this code and see what happens

How do I find Edmund? I've tried every code I can find on the DTV site.

Did you try 30674? That's the only Bose code I see listed for the RC65R under Audio Amplifiers.

    Actually, I did find more 31229, 30639, 31253, 31629, 31841 and 31933 under Audio Receivers.

Actually, I did find more 31229, 30639, 31253, 31629, 31841 and 31933 under Audio Receivers. And if that doesn't work, you can try the long and tedious search process:

SEARCHING FOR TV, AV1 OR AV2 CODES
If you were unable to find the code for your brand of TV or
component, you can try a code search. This process may
    take up to 30 minutes.
    1. Turn on the TV or component. Insert a tape or disk if
    applicable.
    2. Slide the MODE switch to the TV, AV1 or AV2 position,
    as desired.
    3. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys at the same
time until the green light under the selected switch
position flashes twice, then release both keys.
    4. Enter 9-9-1 followed by one of the following fourdigits:
    COMPONENT TYPE COMPONENT ID #
    Satellite 0
    TV 1
    VCR/DVD/PVR 2
    Stereo 3

    5. Press PWR, or other functions (e.g. PLAY for VCR) you
    want to use.
    6. Point the remote at the TV or component and press
CHAN. Repeatedly press CHAN until the TV or
component turns off or performs the action you
    selected in step 5.
NOTE: Every time CHAN is pressed the remote
advances to the next code and power is transmitted
    to the component.
    7. Use the CHAN key to step back a code.
    8. When the TV or component turns off turns off or
performs the action you selected in step 5, stop
pressing the CHAN key. Then, press and release the
    SELECT key.
NOTE: If the light flashes 3 times before the TV or component
    responds, you've cycled through all
codes and the code you need is not available. You
must use the remote that came with your TV or
    component.

Besides the ones posted already, the only other possibility is 31355.

You don't find Edmund. He finds you, so close your blinds and lock your doors. Besides, he won't give you any additional codes because no more exist.

I've tried those as well... seems weird to me that none work... maybe I need to just keep trying until it just gives in!

RACJ2, I tried that one as well... think I'm gonna do the step-by-step process you outlined above. It'll give me something to do for a while! But first I've got to go put the gators into the moat before Edmund starts lurking about.

The only bose LS code in the directv remotes is 31933. Its what the LS 28 v2 uses.

when testing audio codes the volume keys never work initially with any audio code, not until you have tv code programmed to the tv device, and do the following to unlock tv volume from the av1 or av2 device:

    1. av1 or av2
    2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks
    3. enter 9 9 3
    4. press VOL DOWN

Since your bose remote is made by UEI, try blinking back the code it uses for LS 48?

Not sure if I'm getting this right. The TV code is entered and the R65X remote works the volume and power no problem. The LS48 doesn't have HDMI so it's connected via component cable. The DTV box (H24) is also connected to TV via HDMI but that only controls the sound from TV itself. Basically, I can have the TV pict as either Component or HDMI by changing TV input, but only the Component works through the LS48. The LS48 works the DTV box fine, but I lose some options. It's not deal breaking, but I actually like the R65X's options. I've tried the remote setup via systems setup and plugging in a boatload of codes... none seem to work, which makes sense according to what you're saying. Weird that in system setup the LS48 is listed, but doesn't "connect."

Not sure what you mean by "blinking back the codes" for LS48 remote. Is there a way I can train the RC65X from the Bose remote?

Thanks for lurking about to this thread...
