I had a problem using the RF #2 remote on my DISH receiver from the opposite end of the house. There is a little antenna on the back of the receiver for the remote. I ended up running a coax cable from that remote antenna receiver input to a point about half way to where I wanted to use it from. I attached the little remote antenna to the end of the coax and now the remote works great from anywhere in the house.
