Replacing HR-23

    I have a 10 year old HR-23 that has gotten almost unresponsive to the remote. I also have an HR-44 and two Genie minis. I am interested in 4K at some point. Can I replace the HR-23 with a 4K mini now or do I have to wait until I upgrade to an HR54?

    You need to upgrade to a HR54 to get 4K -- When you do that replace the Hr23 with a c61K and you good to go? or jusr replace the HR23 with a HR 24 and replace one of your other mini's --Easy whne you call to upgrade to 4k -tell them the Hr23 - Dead and won't come on -they will replace it for NO extra charge

    I'll try that. The issue now is getting DirecTv to answer the phone. Called twice today and waited on hold for 20 minutes. No one ever picks up.

    Perhaps -Will all that going on right now calm down --you may wish try in the AM - and if that doesn't work -when things become normal -service will return

    I think Directv's call centers are probably short staffed due to corona. I'm a commercial customer and when I call in I am NEVER on hold, and was on hold a half hour today. If I'm on hold a half hour, a residential customer might be on hold all day!

    Maybe you could try going to the web site and using chat, maybe it will be more responsive. If nothing else at least you don't have to listen to their annoying hold messages. Today for some reason every other message when I was on hold was in Spanish, and 3x as loud as the English messages.

    AT&T: We are currently experiencing very high chat volumes which may cause long delays. An agent will be with you as soon as possible.

    If it still works you should wait till this pandemic is at least contained.
