I have an HR22 that died and Directv is sending an HR24 to replace it. I need help understanding how to connect an HR24 that will be replacing the HR22. What I need help with is understanding the Deca connections since HR24 has built in Deca while the HR22 being replaced does not.

I have whole home with the HR22 and an HR44. There is a white Deca adapter connected to the receiver with both a coax and an ethernet cable and there is a black Deca adapter (CCK?) connected to the router by ethernet.

I'd like to confirm that I need to leave the CCK connected as is but that I need to eliminate the DECA adapter and just connect by coax to the HR24.

The HR24 has the DECA coax network adapter built inside, so you don't need the external adapter. Your HR44 will connect to the HR24 using the coax cables. Don't connect an ethernet cable to the HR24.
