Report says DirecTV has "no interest" in WWE Network

    Based on that, overall all cable/sat cos put together made $12 million carrying Wrestlemania XXX ... down $8 million from the last Wrestlemania. Perhaps if at least that level of viewership could be guaranteed for the next event it would be worth carrying. But the next event isn't Wrestlemania - and the suggested retail is 25% less so even if it managed to pull 400k subscribers cable/satellite would only make $9 million (before costs). Not $9 million for DirecTV, but $9 million shared between all of the cable/satellite companies - IF there were 400k subscribers.

    With WWE offering $9.99 streaming of the same events PLUS additional coverage I would not expect PPV sales to remain high.

    I still wouldn't mind DIRECTV and the rest of the providers having a channel with their live programming stream. Sometimes my net sucks and the stream as a result sucks.
