Apple is overrated. There is nothing special about an apple that you can't do on any other PC, and you can build PC's that are just as quality as Apples. I refuse to join the I-tard nation. I tried an I-pod and it along with the I-tunes software sucked. I had to hack the ipod to make it bearable. Traded in my Iphone 4S for a Droid Bionic and couldn't be happier with the trade up. Apple builds look clean, but they use all the same components that a PC does.... from the same manufactures it's just a different OS.
You're overpaying for nothing more than a different OS and a clean looking build.

I actually like the oversee of apps. Things are safer and saner than with loading any old app. My iPhone and iPad have been more reliable than most of the droid phones my friends have had and way more reliable than my Windows PCs (where I have free reign to load any damned thing).

I don't want a Mac, though. iPhone and iPad are well designed for what they do (which is NOT be a computer).

Yet the Apple nation continues expanding due to people loving the "clean" build and "different OS"

I am glad you are happy, but knocking something about which you clearly lack information is ignorant at best, trollish at worst.

Yes, you can. I can, but chose not to. I suspect the majority on this board can do so, too, if they wished.

But I don't want to get absorbed in details about matching components, peripherals, building firewalls, running AV and being super careful about attachments and so forth. Different stokes, diff' folks, and all that.

But we've recently been reminded, Macs are not immune.

This is why tech bloggers throw Apple or Android into every post now. They know people will argue about the companies but people will click on the link to see what the blogger said about it.

Look at all the special stuff in this mac pro that you can't find in a PC!!!!!

    Wait... it's just an OS.....:nono2:

I'm not sure who would suggest that Macs were immune, far less malicious code is written for macs but they are just as vulnerable as a PC.

Everyone, be civil, discuss the topic, and not each other. Seriously, if you can't be civil and discuss the topic then do not post.

Human nature to feel passionate about something we've already made a decision about. After all, when we make the decision to embrace a particular TV provider or computer OS we've put a lot of thoughts and our egos into it, and we're not going to admit to ourselves that we effed up. Even if we did. So if you are a D* sub, it's the best in the world. If you're a Mac user, no other computer comes close.
