And in all of that activity, nobody recommends moving the PI to some point 100' away from a splitter.

I concede that someone might want to move a Genie 2 closer to a wireless client but it seems unlikely that that would be 100 cable feet away from where it was professionally installed.

It speaks to the utility (or lack thereof) in going after solid copper core cabling.

No it doesn't. Not at all. I repeat my previous advice, stay out of forums when you don't know what you are talking about.

I agree ... If one is buying cable buy the better cable. The stuff I used (and the stuff decent installers use) came in a box. Pulled according to manufacture's specification, installed by manufacture's specification and meeting the specification of the satellite company for their installs. I bought ONE box of cable for my install and used it for all of the runs (powered and non-powered). It didn't make any sense to buy a second box of lesser cable.

I probably could have "got by" with lesser cable - but I did not have any lesser cable to work with and I certainly wasn't going to buy lesser cable when the price difference was so small.

You can run a genie mini on (2) DECCA adaptors and use eithernet cable if you really wanted to.
