I'm not good at saving cake
Just some more info as to who will get them.
This may change, but as of right now the criteria for getting a SWM LNB is
1. Must be a new install
2. The Install must be at least 5, up to 8 tuners
3. Customer must have HD programming on the work order
otherwise the standard slimline will be installed...
Yes- the slimline 3 will come in both flavors, SWM & non SWM
So there you go. No info yet as to if they will or how much it will cost to upgrade you to a SWM LNB from a regular one.
Thanks RobertE, this seems like the senseable approach to me.
Hopefully when the go on sale on the open market, the price will be reasonable.
I can see it having a real value at $199 for an upgrade, A regular swm is close to the $300 price point.
Is it ready...ready to roll?
The last I heard, for the First Look anyway, is there were a few areas that DirecTV wanted edited. Stuart is working it and once it is done he said he'd send me the final release copy.
I think the SWM ODU LNB is being installed in select markets though.
I wonder if this is the longest confidential CE trial? First round started in late January. Next week will be four months. Did we set a record?
The HR21-700 was very long
The HR21-200 was about 5 months too.
HR21-100 was barely 2.5 months. I'm thinking that was one of the shortest.
SWM5.. year and still counting  never to see light of day...
But it wasn't secret for very long.
Yeah, I concur, that one was very short...in comparison.
agreed.....we got our HR21 -100 boxes and about the next day or two someone said we better start on the first look because it would be needed very soon.....hehe.....that was fun and I look forward to doing more with you guys in the future.....Rocker and GWV got started on it and boom, it was released....
You guys had a very energenic group it wsa fun to watch you guys scrambling to get it done and as it turned out a very fine First Look to be sure!
Ok, I'll ask...
Is it officially outed?
Are we ready to release?
Since I really don't know what, if any, agreements we have with Directv, do they get the final word on what we release?
For the record, I believe that DirecTV should have a cut and the final word.
I'm just unclear as to what our responsibilities are...realizing of course that I may not have a need know.
And yes, I believe we have responsibilities when it comes to field testing.
That satguys thing makin it tough eh, mike?
It all got me thinking. I'm just wondering how the program works.
Patience fellas, we're going to have our day. We will do it with class as DBSTalk always does as the leader in Satellite Forums.
It is coming...please be patient. Thanks!
