Starting two days ago I started getting pixelization and sometimes a 771 no signal error on a couple of channels on on this sat (230 DIY and 305 ION) and the stations would come in for a bit and then back out with occasional 771 error. At that time the signal showed:

    93 92 89 88 86 87 90 89
    86 88 89 90 87 87 NA NA
NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA
NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA

But last night I completely lost both of those stations and some others that I assume are also on 103cb (720 MLB Mix, ESPNUHD and 733) and the signal reading now shows:

    0 91 0 88 0 88 0 87
    0 88 0 88 0 87 NA NA
NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA
NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA

Could this be anything other than a dish alignment issue? My signals are still good for 99ca and 101.

Exactly ! Even tpns still shows good signal. So ruling out mis-alignment.
Could be LNBF RF part, or its FW if you have DLNB Gen I or II.

    Dish Type: SL3 LNB

    Switch Type: SWM Module

System Test Results All Items OK

Channels that are out are out on all 7 receivers.

What kind of LNB do you have?

A SWiM integrated type with a single coax outlet or a legacy type with 4 coax outlets?

    Oh sorry;

    Didn't see this when I posted ...

Can you try swapping the two 103 lines to the multiswitch to see if the problem moves to the even tps.?

If it moves then the problem is with the original coax or connectors on the 103 odd (13v) line to the switch.

If it doesn't move then the problem is either with the LNB or multiswitch ....

Sorry if this is a stupid question but how do I know which two cables are the two 103 lines? And switch them at the LNB or at the multiswitch? In the middle of a thunderstorm at the moment and it requires being outside in either case.

Swap them at the multiswitch, the coax lines from the LNB are labeled there on the switch inputs ...

When the weather and dryness permits of course ...

How do the levels on 103(ca) look?

Ok since you've already called for a tech. I guess it's not important now ...

But that definitely appears to be simply a bad coax line or its connectors to the 103+22 KHz (13V) input on the multiswitch.

Thanks for your help. I'm still going to try your suggestion to "try swapping the two 103 lines to the multiswitch to see if the problem moves to the even tps" once the thunderstorm is past. I have tools I can change the connector if it is just a bad connector.

They will change your LNB & Switch to DLNB with RB and a splitter … I would wait for the visit.

Last night about 8:00 pm the channels on 103cb started working again and they are still working this morning. The signal for 103cb now shows:

    95 92 90 89 89 89 89 88
    88 89 88 89 88 88 NA NA
NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA
NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA

    and 103ca shows:

    0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
    95 91 92 86 88 85 88 87
    85 83 88 85 84 83 87 85
NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA

Is it possible the multiswitch can stop working for periods of time and then start working again? Nothing was done to anything when it started working again.

It is common for problems with LNBs or SWM16s to come and go. Sometimes heat/water related, sometimes for no discernible reason. Not really worth diagnosing unless you plan to buy parts and fix it yourself. In which case you should just replace the LNB with a reverse band 3 - which is what Directv would do if you called them.

Yeah they are sending a tech out next Sunday. I will just let him deal with it. My dish is on the roof though. I've heard they won't go up on a roof anymore. Even though they were the one that put it up there.
