Nope, I did what I did previously to get what I got earlier. I'll give it a shot in a few.
Here ya go, when I tuned to 283 both came up like this when I tested signal strength:
Smiddy, Thanks. This is similar to what others have seen. On my system the 721 is replaced with Encore Mystery Channel. If you don't subscribe to this block of premium channels, I think you would get the 721 message. If a person was to select channels other than 283, you may get the same 721 message or some other channel such as the game lounge etc, HDTV help channel etc. I know I have gotten these in the past , but I just couldn't pipoint a cause.
Was this from the H20?
No, I didn't check it, it is in the basement (and not connected to the Slingbox Pro, yet; once the Russound gets repaired and reinstalled) and I'm a bit lazy this evening. I checked both the HR21 and HR20. I'll check it tomorrow night.
I am going to check this again tonight. I have checked it before with no error message given. I am running (1) HR21-700, HR20-700, and an H21 right now. I will see again later. Both the HRxx are on last weeks CE. 0225. The H21 is on the NR.
Make sure you use the process I outlined in this other thread. I beleive there is a direct correlation between the starting station and the ending station.
I will make sure to follow your steps.
I ran the H20-600 tonight and it did not exhibit the same behaviour. It could be because the H20-600 doesn't have a screen for SWM, which doesn't switch through the paces to test it. Thoughts?
BTW, with 229h neither HR20 or HR21 exhibit this problem, so it appears to be fixed from my perspective. How about you?
Ok, this morning I reran the test, partially since last night my alergies were acting up and I didn't want to test more and likely didn't close enough attention, but this morning I ran the HR21-200 and check this out:
See how it is on Bloomberg in the background and the guide is on Universal HD. I had the tuner on 259. This leads me to beleive that once the SWM is being checked that it changes the band the current channel is on to the tested one and doesn't put it back. This is fixable in software, I suspect.
Did anyone experience this with plain old SWM attached to their systems as well? If my hypothesis holds I would have suspected so. Thoughts?
I reran the test on XM Liquid Metal and check this out:
It would seem the digital stream shows the correct data for the song and channel but the guide is skewed after the test.
I was thinking that the problem is SWMline related also. I ran it again after 0x229 and had the same problem. When hitting done after the test, the picture goes full screen to the video stream that doesn't match the logo and info screen. I originally statred with 283 and that's waht the logo showed afterwards. If you try to change from the eroneous video stream by reselecting 283, nothing happens because the IRD thinks it is already there and doesn't do anything. Once you try any different channel, things get back in sync.
I don't know if they can do a hot fix for the firmware or not. It would be interesting to find out.
As in the "other" thread, I have a H21-200 that doesn't do this and have seen it before with my HR21-200 and my SWM8, so I think this is software in the receivers and not SWM FW.
Which software do you have in the HR21-200? I'm running 229h and it DOES happen. The only one that it doesn't occur on is the H20-600 since there is no test screen on the SWM, I suspect that is why, but can't tell for sure. The H20-600 is on a national release 4042h I think.
