Welcome to the dirty dozen. I think you're going to like the AM21. :D

Mine came for the HR21-200 today. Up and running. I posted comparative signal levels and response to multi-path between the HR20-700 and the HR21-200/AM21 in the HR21-200 Issues/discussion thread. (in the sticky).

The HR21-200 with AM21 tuner is a winner...very clear differences in performance between the HR20 and the AM21 equipped HR21.

Same here. My HR21-200 with AM21 has much better signals than my HR20-700.

I posted that yesterday and everyone said they did not notice any difference.

I wonder if it has to do with ours being -200's?

My -100 seems to handle multipath issues better and does a better job of locking the signal than that of my HR20-700.

Since the meter in the HR series measures a variant on Bit-Error-Rate (BER), making a direct comparison between the -700 and the AM21 is easily done (if you have both).
I did that and posted the numbers in the HR21-200 issues thread (above). It shows clearly (and quantitatively) that the tuner in the AM21 is superior in both BER and response to multi-path. They obviously selected a good tuner chip (AMD from other references).

    Good job D*!
