Making more is always a good thing. Do they pay all the fuel costs? Of course there are other things, like health insurance etc but hope it works out for you!

Good Luck on the new job.
So for now you will be getting 32K as a trainee, does this increase when you get your own route?

They do pay all fuel costs even on routes where you stay over night the company covers it. They pay half of your insurance premium which is pretty good as well. Also
32K as a trainee then moves up to 38K plus commision when you get a route. But u dont have to load your truck or anything. Just drive and sell the product. 14hr days 5days a week will be long but rewarding from what i can tell.

    Sounds like a good deal

What about product you don't sell? The Schwan's driver who serves this area occasionally will sit on a corner selling stuff from the truck at ridiculous low prices. Do you have a commitment to bring in a certain $$ each week??

The one thing that ticked me off about my Schwan's driver in Minnesota (which ultimately caused me to drop their service) was I would place an advance order on the internet and just about every time, I would not get everything I had ordered because the driver would give my product to a "premium" customer. I understand wanting to please the "premium" customer but in know in my case I would cancel my entire order when he pulled a stunt like that.

The product you dont sell doesnt hurt the employee a bit. Its all paid for and managed by schwans. You do have somewhat of a commitment on your route as far as sales since they know what the route could do prior to you coming to the route. The average per day sales around here is 1300 which is very attainable. As for the pre-order stuff i guess that has changed some now and they garuntee it to be on the truck when they visit. The scanner shows only the avalible number but not that amount plus the reserves so your order is now safe.

Had some knot-head once I was looking at hiring do something like that.

His sister worked for the same company so he was hanging around her cubicle enjoying unlimited Lemon Poppy Seed muffins prior to his interview. We offered him the job but asked him to wait until Monday to get the drug test but he was to excited and ran right over to the place and got his drug test.
On Monday he shows up and tells us he had his drug test done on Friday. His sister starts to chew him out because of all the Poppy Seed Muffins he had eaten and he tells us there is nothing to worry about because when he went to do the test he put down his wife's social security # instead of his own so he's clear.

Im pretty sure i would get fired if i went that far off course lol. Or else they would just consider me and the truck a total loss. :hurah:

Funny. Supposedly they made the fail value higher to account for it, but after the Mythbusters came back failed with three bagels, I figure you can never be too careful.
