i have been using an external seagate pro 750 drive for a few weeks now with no problems. a few days ago, i started to get resets...1 or 2 a day. now i am getting constant resets. i can switch over to the internal drive no problem..i have been able to get the esata back up and running a few times...but after 20 minutes of watching a recording...it goes into the endless reset loop with the red light flashing...and never completely reboots....just an endless cycle.

i am using a cord from newegg that someone from here recommended. like i said, it worked great for about 2 weeks...i have only used about 45% of the space on the seagate.

any idea what may have triggered this???:(

Nothing "tirggered" it I would say. It just sounds like you may have a bad drive or maybe it's overheating. A bad drive isn't all that uncommon. It certainly happens.
