    Teays...
So it is time to start doing some DVR management. I already noticed a couple of conflicts when I add in new shows like Chase and Hawaii 5-0.

Plus the wife and I have made an agreement to not watch our returning favorites during the first couple of weeks and instead to try the new shows. In the past we would "save" the new shows and watch our old returning favorites. Then what happened is we had 12 episodes of a show we hadn't even tried and we ended up deleting it. So this year, Castle will get saved and we will try Chase or 5-0 that Monday.

What show is everybody looking for to? Either new or returning. Or both.

I am looking forward to the return of Human Target. For some reason I really like this show. Of the new shows, I am most curious about Running Wilde mainly because Will Arnett is funny and the show is from the creator of Arrested Development. Hoping some of the AD magic will be there.

As a fan of the original Five-0, I am looking forward to checking out the new series. Sadly, the promos which I have seen have left me with the feeling that David Caruso must have been on set at some point and gave acting tips to the cast. Let's hope I'm wrong!

In our house, we don't typically get around to watching new shows during the Fall as we are busy discovering "NEW" returning shows (we just discovered House and Bones)

Same here for Bones. Fortunately TNT ran the first 4 seasons over the summer, so we are almost caught up.

The networks have convinced me not to look forward to any new shows by their policies of premature cancellation. I'm done getting burned! If the show makes it a full season I'll give it a shot, otherwise it's really easy to delete from the DVR.

I interested in how "Undercovers" turns out. The previews don't do much for me but it's from JJ Abrams.

That's what we've always done too and will continue to do. There's some exceptions, but with a lot of newer shows I wait to see if it gets picked up or cancelled before watching any.

I'm with you. The only new show I'll start watching is The Event and that's only because I've already seen 2 episodes and it looks promising. Otherwise the new shows will accumulate, which is why I have added external drives to all my DVRs, until a full season completes and then I'll watch. The only exceptions to that for a new show would be half hour comedies.

The previews have helped me decide not to even record this one. Seems geared more toward a female audience to me.

New shows I'll give a shot:

    ABC:
    The Whole Truth
    No Ordinary Family

    CBS:
    Mike & Molly
    Hawaii 5-0
    Bleep My Dad Says
    Blue Bloods

    FOX:
    Lonestar
    Raising Hope

    NBC:
    The Event
    Chase
    Undercovers
Law & Order: LA (I wish they kept the original and cancelled SVU)
    Outsourced
    Outlaws

So I guess NBC has really tickled my interest, but then again they had nothing last year, so they better come up with something appealing. Not sure if anyone has watched the NBC fall preview, but it made Undercovers and Outlaws look pretty good. It was on this past Monday on SyFy and then later on CNBC. Not sure if it will be on again, or if it will be on NBC itself.

Thanks for your list. I printed it and will use it as new days come up on the EPG to add the programs of interest here.

Bones is a fun show, isn't it? Decent plots and great characters, IMO. I really get a kick out of the rotating Zack replacements.

The New York Times recently published a convenient synopsis of all the new and returning shows here, in the order they'll appear.

From that article, what I'm probably looking forward to most:

"FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS The best television show that you’re probably not watching returns for its fifth, and final, season. (DirecTV, Wednesdays beginning Oct. 27.)"

I'm a fan of these genres, so I'll be giving these a chance too:

    DETROIT 1-8-7

    THE DEFENDERS

    THE WHOLE TRUTH

    LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES

And since I like 2.5 Men and Big Bang Theory, I'm going to give Mike & Molly a shot (same producer).
