Supposedly the Directv reps are telling people it's not on because the game is not sold out. College Football has NFL blackout rules now??? News to me.

Heh. Have seen the first reports of CSR using the non-sellout blackout excuse they use for all sports-related glitches. I was expecting it.

And... as I'm typing, channel appears!

Its up. The CSR told me a engineerring error. It has been a little bit of a embarassing day for Directv to say the least.

DirecTV customer service fail. This is, IMHO, THE weak link in their customer service system. They have a Big Book Of Why The Customer Is Always Wrong. WHATEVER a customer calls in to say he is receiving is going to be called correct and some quote from the book (not sold out, MLB blackout rules, whatever) will be quoted. Rather than do the right thing, which is to have employees that are well trained and will pass reports of mistakes to broadcast control.

Whoever at broadcast control did not have this right should be, at this second, be being escorted from the building. Fired.

It took me 15 minutes to get a person to tell me that it was a tech problem at their end. After getting off the phone,611-1 came on without a problem/glich.

Probably an Alabama Grad that thinks SEC Network stands for Saban Exclusive Content Network.

LOL. I think I prefer quality football from the NFL over that classic Tennessee-Arky State matchup. Hard to believe isn't it?

Yep. And that is what we need to see about the Finebaum portion of the SECN. It is pretty obvious that Alabama isn't really all that good this year. Struggled with a bad WVU team, and after this weeks walkover over one of the truly fooling themselves bottom feeders of I-A, they have to play in the SEC. Can Finebaum turn his show from just Alabama, Alabama, Alabama, Alabama into a genuine discussion of the SEC. His comments this week (praising WVU after laughing about it the week before) are not encouraging. Bluntly, can Fienbaum cover a TAMU-Georgia SEC Final with any creditability, or are he and I-Man and Cletus and Tammy and Phyllis from Mugla just going to talk about Bama's exciting trip to the Gator Bowl?

Directv subscribers miss the first ten minutes of a wipeout Tennessee game? Big deal.
More important is not being able to watch #11 ucla this week and #3 Oregon, #13 Stanford next week.

With Alabama game in a delay due to lightning. What happens @ 3:00 when E. Mich vs Fla is schedule to be on 611 and Nicholls St vs Ark scheduled to be on 611-1 Alt channel? Three games & two channels dilemma.

Army at Stanford... yeah that'll be an exciting wipeout.
Memphis at UCLA ... Another exciting wipeout.
Wyoming at Oregon ... You're 3 for 3 on wipeouts.

Not going to be an issue for these games. Ark St. Tennessee just ended on 611-1 and the game on 611 is already over. Next games start in 30 minutes (4 PM eastern).

What might be an issue is the DirecTV logo is already on 611-1. Lets hope it doesn't take them 1 hour to turn the game on.

Actually we missed almost 17 minutes. And of course it's never a big deal if it isn't your team. It was a big deal to us.
