I am reading online that Dish offers discounts for seniors, but is this only for new customers?

DISH has always been Tuned In To the needs of Customers, that’s why we created an exclusive offer just for customers that are 55 and older! Enjoy a movie night on DISH with your first on demand movie rental each month for free, get worry free protection from our tech support along with a free in-home service, automatically skip commercials on select primetime shows on ABC, CBS, NBC, and more!

Be careful, if you have the two year price lock make sure it can work concurrent with the senior citizen discount.

I am 71 and a long term customer (1999), and I have gotten discounts for years when I ask for them. Dish offers a lot for the price. I read Direct is raising their prices by $10 soon.

Well I did talk with dish and they gave me the 55+ for free (I think it already is). Basically I get 1 free PPV movie a month for 4 years is the main benefit.

How long have you been with Dish and how much you have spent through the years may have some factor on discounts too. If a person has been with Dish for 21 years, Dish probably doesn't want to lose them.

Currently we have been with them over 12 years. My biggest complaint with dish as a long term customer as with all providers is that if you want to change your equipment you need another 2 year agreement unless you are talking about cable where there is a way to subscribe and upgrade without 2 year agreement ( although you pay more). Even to upgrade the Joey is 2 years.

I never had to deal with that as I have always owned my equipment. If I want a new receiver, I buy it outright and have no commitments.
