I went onto Directv's website today to buy an AM21. When I went to checkout, there was a $50 service fee added to the price. So instead of $50, it was going to cost me $100. I clicked on the service fee and it said 'Charge based on account status and rating.' At the top of the page it said, 'Sorry! Because of your payment history, we have to add a small fee to any receiver purchase you make today." I have been on autopay since day 1 over four years ago & have never once had any problem with the bill being paid on time. I called customer service & no one could seem to answer what would cause the fee to show up. The rep said she had never seen that message before. I was able to get the service fee taken off, but still am not sure for what reason it was on there. Within in the last couple months I dropped from Premier to Ultimate and recently changed the credit card on my autopay. I wouldn't think that would cause the problem. Has anyone encountered this before or have any ideas? Thanks.
