I'm buying a Linksys wireless router today.......its going to replace my hardwired Linksys.......Im going to leave all my equipment hardwired (XBOX 360,PS3,HR20-700 and HDDVD player)except my HR20-100 which is in the bedroom and eventually a wireless laptop!!!

My question is what do I need besides the wireless router in order to have my HR20-100 connect wireless to the router???

Do they make an attenae adapter that would plug into the ethernet port on the DVR or do I need something else???

the router im planning on buying is -----> link http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2470125

Most people are using wireless gaming adapters.

For that router, I think this is your best and possibly only option and actually what I'm considering getting.

    Good luck!

    Bainbridge...
There are several compatible devices. A lot of information on routers and adapters is in the first post in this thread.

A SpeedBooster router would need a SpeedBooster adapter and Linksys does not make a gaming adapter with SpeedBooster. I know because I checked. As a result, whichever gaming adapter you use will be at "normal" G speed with the WRT54GS. Linky. I believe any manufacturer's gaming adapter would work.

    Thanks for the info...........

ONE more big question......I plan on buying a laptop next month.........are there any that are speedboost compatible with the WRT54GS??

I know i can buy a wireless adapter with speedboost for a laptop/PC.....but thought that most of todays Laptop's have wi-fi adapters built in them!!!

are the ones that are included in the Laptop not speedboost compatible?

    You're welcome.

I'm pretty confident that no computer manufacturer comes with a SpeedBooster adapter built-in. Sorry for being the bearer of bad news.

Yes. That should work perfectly. I just don't know how accurate the 35% increase in speed statement Linksys makes is.
