I'm in my sixties and remember a time when TV screens weren't much larger than today's tablets. You had to sit very close to view the programing. I rather not revert to that regardless what I paid for Sunday Ticket Max. AT&T dropped the ball with this.

Even worse, a few people I know contacted the AT&T VP of Entertainment and got blown off and insulted. Basically, "You're the only ones who want it on TV and you don't count. Too bad, so sad. If you want to cancel, fine."

Once the merger went through AT&T flushed DTV, a once truly great company, right down the toilet.

I pay for (and have) four Dvr's on my account, yet their 'system' only allows one stream. This is the same as only allowing one reciever to 'tune' to the games, and is a direct violation of the subscriber agreement.

Over the years, Direct and the nfl have, year after year, degraded the service, and this may be the final straw.

I agree. Removing the recording/time-shifting is a serious degradation to this package.

The streaming is only available from Midnight Sunday through Midnight Wednesday. 72 hours to record previously.

But now between work and sleep, I could only, at maximum, stream these between 6pm and 11pm Mon - Wed. 15 total hours. Oh, don't forget to subtract the 3 hours of Monday Night Football. So 12 hours when you have to stream the games you're interested in.

Whereas with the games on 705/706, I had about 10 teams last year I was recording and could transfer to my tablet and watch while flying or in hotels. I tried streaming at several airport terminals. Lots of buffering if I could even get a connection.

Combine this with the elimination of the GenieGo, DIRECTV service is dropping in my list of items I want to pay for.

What a bunch of whiny complainers on this board. It's called adapting to changes. I can "cast" my app from my iPad to my TV and presto I can see short cuts on my regular television.

Yes we thought 705/6 were going to be used. I'm a little bummed by it but trust me the world isn't going to end because you have to use the app to watch the Bills v Ravens game on your phone. My PQ is perfect on my phone, tablet, or TV

And those of you that didn't call and get this to free or a huge discount only have yourselves to blame. Took me twenty minutes on the phone and the saved $480 this year

Enjoy the games. Have a nice day

I can't stream where I work (a block building inside a block building inside a block and metal building). No cell data at all. I have to walk outside and go on the north side of our building to get reception.

I travel about 12 days every month. Can't stream in the air either.

So I bought a nomad and subscribed to packages so I can travel with some of these shows. My 3 hour flight to Chicago would allow me to watch 4-5 Short Cuts. Can't do that anymore.

And to have pages on their web site that say you can record Short Cuts (even as I type this), is just wrong. https://support.directv.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2268/kw/short%20cuts

You in the habit of paying for items and not getting everything you paid for?

I will not subscribe to ST next year.

Yep you're right. Just did a referral for my new neighbor's next to me in early August, mentioning the short cuts available on their DVR the next day. They called me Monday night wondering where can they find them? I had to politely tell them it was false advertising by AT&T, and that the option has been cancelled as of this year's start of the season, even though it's still advertised.

I just turned on the news and the sun is still going to rise tomorrow. Directv made a mistake. The worlds not going to end. It'll be ok. The app works great. You'll learn to love it. Yeah it sucks we can't DVR the games we want but when I did that last year I hardly ever went back and watched a game from several weeks before.

Wow - I don't know what news channel you watched (and don't want to) but none of those "stories" were headlines on any newscast that I saw.

Has anyone without the Max package tried accessing shortcuts on the app? I'm wondering how or if they are restricting it like they should. Max may become a thing of the past and everything will be included in the base package (albeit at a much higher rate I'm sure).

As I told the office of the president...

I live in a rural area. Watching the shorts on the app has to be done on wifi because the cell signal isn't strong enough (and only 3G). If I have to be home to watch them, why can't they be on TV instead of a little blurry phone screen?

Monetize; somewhere in Dtv/Att thinking is to somehow move yet another piece of ST to streaming (yet for dtv customers NOT 'on demand' in the dtv system) so that it may yet be sold off (like RedZone) to the highest bidder.

First step completed. Next step either in the next few days/weeks or next season; I'll bet next few weeks Verizon/att or whoever will announce 'zeroized' sort cuts available through their systems (wireless and perhaps others), accompanied with the later announcement of large bonuses to dtv/att heads.

    Deal completed.

Nobody carries The Red Zone Channel except Directv. NFL Network's Red Zone is on other providers and is not the same thing.

I don't think D* can just sell the short cuts streaming to other providers. I'm sure the NFL,CBS and FOX would have major problems with that sale without their consent.

Dropping the short cuts at the last minute without no notice was so dumb, it's hard for me to believe D* did it . Why anger your most loyal subs to the one package (NFLST ) you have exclusive rights too ?

According to one DTV rep I talked to (in the "Sunday Ticket" department no less) they took Short Cuts off in order to push more use of the app. I reminded her that the Short Cuts are still only available on the app the same time the channels were ran and that not everyone has broadband internet or even 4G LTE in their area. Her reply.....

"Maybe it's time they look into that."

Yeah okay good luck looking into what might not be in your area in the boonies.

Well said. I wouldn't consider this "the boonies" but it looks weird when my phone displays 4G LTE because I see it so infrequently. It almost always says 3G. I have contacted the office of the president about this and suggest others do the same. Like I said earlier, if I have to be home (on wifi) to watch them, why can't they be on TV?!?!!?

Streaming is not TV. I didn't sign up for DirectStreaming. I signed up for Directv. Why don't they get this?

Perhaps some day AT&T|DIRECTV will fix this. I believe they have already announced DirecTV as the brand they will put on their streaming service. All they need to do now is change the name of the satellite service. Problem solved. :)

I do not like seeing services reduced. Did it cost DIRECTV too much to have a dedicated channel for the Short Cuts? Are they saving a considerable amount of money by not transmitting the content via satellite? Is DIRECTV or the NFL making money somewhere by not having the content available via satellite? Is the customer better served via streaming than they were via satellite? It would be easier to accept the change if the reason was obvious.

Not happy about this whatsoever. Contacted Directv and they didn't know anything about it and said people must not care because this is the first they've heard about it. I also agree that I was misled into thinking that the channels would be available and never told that shortcuts would be streaming only. This was a bad choice by Directv and I am upset and duped.
